Hey all, one of my very good friends is getting married in a few months and one of my gifts to them will be to "chauffeur" them from the ceremony to the reception in some sort of really nice car. Had considered renting them a Vette or something, but with a wedding in late March, it could be snowing. I also get the feeling the last thing they want is to have to drive themselves.
I have a few choices in rentals. Looking for opinions, Devil's Advocates, or any first-hand experience.
Cadillac Escalade: $299 ($399 for ESV)
Range Rover HSE: $359
Range Rover Sport Supercharged: $349
BMW 750Li: $359-499 (depending on year)
Mercedes S550 4matic: $399-499 (depending on year)
Porsche Cayenne GTS: $495
Sort of leaning towards the BMW since it's hugely roomy and affordable, but the Benz is nice too.

You might be able to come to an agreement with one if you give them a call and explain the situation. I'm sure they will not balk at the idea of getting $300 for a "test drive.."
When I was in college, I worked as a Valet Attendant at an upper-tier banquet hall and, as you can imagine, we had a lot of weddings. The two most memorable "arrivals" of the bride & groom, to me, were: 1) a couple arriving in a white 1930s or 1940s Rolls-Royce, stunning car; Absolutely amazing and it was a pleasure just to see it up close, yet alone experiencing being chauffeured to your wedding in it. 2) an Indian wedding, they were brought up in matching elephants! (I don't think that's the avenue you're trying to explore though, is it? Hahah!)
My point is, whatever you chose, make sure it's not something that would "blend in" with other cars. Modern Escalades, Rovers, Bimmers, Mercs and such blend in a bit too much, in my opinion. You see them each, at least, once a day during a normal commute. Personally, I think a Z06 or some kind of super car (ACR, Lambo, what have you) would be a great choice to rent for an hour or so. It's a treat and definitely special.
However, if they're the type that doesn't want the attention, or if you think they'd rather be driven from the ceremony to the reception, then I can totally understand steering clear of the previous idea. Of the ones you listed, my choice would be the 7-series as well.
Good luck, and I'm sure they're going to love the gesture.
There are companies that rent the old Rolls Royces and Studebakers. They're about $600 for 3 hours. The wedding is late March which might mean snow and shit weather. Those things are also scary to drive...power nothing, skinny tires, heavy, crap visibility. No thanks. I'd rather pay someone to drive that for me.
I wouldn't go with the range rover sport ther pretty cramped in th back. The full size is a bit better though. Are you trying to take them in comfort or just a fun cruise? I doubt the vette is spacious in th rear or any other coupe. The BMW or Benz would be my choice.
