Cam seal leaking

I cant get my cam seals to stop leaking. I put in the third one a few weeks ago, leaving it a little further out in case there was a groove worn on the cam. now it leaks worse than ever.

all I can think of is the lip is rolling when I am installing the seal. Does anyone use a special installer tool? I just tapped mine over the cam with a plastic hammer.

anyone have a picture of how far in the seal should be seated?

Are you installing the seal by first removing the cam cap that covers the top of it? I tried *without* removing it, and it leaked. Then I tried by removing the cam cap, and it went in with much less struggle, and hasn't leaked so far.

I thought about doing this.

I found a burr in the cam, I sanded it smooth. If it leaks again I have a spare cam to put in.

do this, i also used some copper gasket spray when i put it back.

My brother had one that leaked after install. Used a hammer and punch to gently tap it in a bit. Hasn't leaked since. But definitely remove that cap when changing them. Much easier.

Looks like a pressure valve.
