These valves from VF-Engineering are a direct replacement for the Bosch valves as used on most German factory built turbo automobiles (i.e. Volkswagen Golf and Jetta 1.8T, Audi TT 1.8T and Porsche 911 Twin Turbo). The OE Bosch Valves are made from plastic and contains a rubber diaphragm which is actuated by engine vacuum. These valves are used to release pre-throttle body manifold pressure on deceleration and can often times be a problematic part of your car's boost system over time due to regular wear and tear or high boost. The VF-Engineering Race Bypass Valves are made from billet aluminum and can withstand higher boost pressures and the higher charge temperatures. The OE Bosch Valves are a part that is prone to failure in stock applications and particularly on 'chipped' vehicles. Bosch has revised their valve design several times, but by using the VF-Engineering Valves, you will have the assurance that once these valves are fitted, they will not need to be replaced. The VF-Engineering Race Bypass Valves have been bench "flow tested" and results show that they flow just over 10% more capacity. The greater airflow capacity means that on aftermarket and higher boost applications, air turbulence is reduced and the possibility MAF turbulence is minimized.
