Was that done in house or did you get that sent out? MCWW? I am probably going with the blue or red scuba dude and if I did the mod, probably a matching color insert. How much did that run you?
I think Mr. Murphy went off the grid, it appears he has become an anonymous user, for what reason I can't say. Still getting used to the layout of the forum over there, does your direct link still work Frank?
Picked up a DM bezel from another WUS member for 35 shipped. Looking to pick up a soviet Scuba Dude in Boston, just waiting to hear back from the seller. I also picked up the Shturmanskie, the seller came back with an offer I couldn't refuse! He and I had been in contact throughout the entire auction, and since the winner is a 'jerk' as the seller put it he sold it to me for a ridiculously low price since I had been in constant contact with him. I am beyond excited for these, I just need to get to the mailbox first before the misses or my arse might be on the couch for a while.

Nice!
I just picked up a Deep Blue Master Explorer 1000M , I think I need a bigger pelican case for the divers...
Should be here in a day or so...
Also sending out the Tissot for mods near the end of this month to MCWW.
Awesome purchase Frank.. Love the bezel and the dial.

This one has not disappointed at all! Long story short as a side note, Found a shop today where I bought the strap and they are the same type of shop I would love to open up. Watches, Straps, Knives, and High Output flash lights (Surefire, Scorpion, etc) they were after my heart! Anyway, they are an AD for Seiko, Bulova, Luminox, etc. (so the typical AD attitude was there) and they guy showed me the rubber since they did not have the leather set up I asked for, I bought it on the spot. As he was putting it on, he made the comment that I really shouldn't get any 'russian' watch near any sort of water since they were soo sub par in his own words. While I will agree with him that most older 'waterproof' watches don't really like water, I was a little put off by the comment since here I was a paying (payed at this point) customer and he makes comments about the quality of Russian Watches. He must not have heard that a Poljot was the first watch in space, or that Vostok Amphibians have been diving before without ill effect. It ticked me off a little to say the least. Sorry, Seiko's are great and all, they are top notch, but they don't get my blood flowing like a Russian watch.
^^ Thanks, I missed out on two pre-92 scuba dudes (see Frank's with the green bezel) this week once they hit over $110, you can get a new one for $65 . . . So yeah. I passed on those. This Sturmanskie, has a long story so ill make it short. Find the watch, email seller, start talking to seller frequently, item closes at auction at $150+, I did not win (was too much for that watch so I passed), buyer flaked, seller emailed me and asks if I want it, and I paid $50 for it :) End of story. So, be friendly to any potential sellers, and email them congratulating their sale even if you do not win, they might remember you in the end like my story. The second dude that I missed out on today, the seller previously had a BIN at 120, I offered 100, he puts it up to auction and goes for 113, I was pissed for the last 40 seconds it sat at 50 and then jumped out of the water at the end. I hope the winner gets the bends. :p
Also glad because I love knowing you can mod a watch now. One of my favorites (my large blue face Invicta I posted) is awesome except the hands. In a dark place like a bar, you can't see the chrome (non-glow) hands when they are over the silver part of the face. No contrast. So I want some wider, contrasting, glowing hands on that one..
Two questions you guys may know or have some insight:
1- Anyone ever tried Dremel polishing tips or anything like that to polish out some scuffs or scratches on a watch? Assuming the polished finish already. Brushed finish I had some success with emery paper and such. I want to polish out some scratches though..
2- Anyone know a way to "charge" the glowing parts of a watch like hands, etc., aside from obviously leaving in the sun? Certain light bulbs in a lamp or anything? I don't want to go to actual UV lamp for several reasons, including fading..

Dahart, there are a few of us (myself included) who are gun enthusiasts. But a few threads have been started on the subject and have died rather quickly. . .
Cbock, once you start getting into watches you will know how to get decent deals on some good watches. Russian watches, are GREAT value for the money, but they are very easily faked/franken'd. I have $1 russians that easily keep better time than $200+ peices. There are those like frank who have great tastes, but come with a hefty price. Seiko, is another great value and are one of the best watches to buy. Start off with a Seiko 007 and go from their! Don't get discourages, start off on Watchuseek and learn as much as you can.
William, I have not had one so I can not say. In the end, it is a Brietling, so it will be good for years to come.
ANYWAY! I got a new one today. . . a Vostok Scuba dude! This watch is headed out for some mods, and will take a few weeks to get back to me. Dont worry, I think you all will love it!
EDIT: Yes the protective plastic cover was still on the crystal for this picture, before you all say anything.

Thanks for the info. But, like I said, I've got enough expensive hobbies. And, I know I'd go nuts if I went down the path. I'll just be happy with my Invicta 1461 and black Swiss Legend 10541.
