this is my first avant. I love it, it's also my first B5.

Ive owed a b6 USP blk/blk, qtm, stg 2 uni. and
a moro blue b7 2.0t qtm uni stage 2 with cat delete.

    2000 Avant 1.8t. Casablanca white 5spd

quattro manual. picked up as my daily about 6 months ago. Iam finally getting around to getting my maint/some small repairs. i will keep this thread up to date with all the happenings. Should be fun.

    Maintenance to be done:
1- timing belt package, engine seals, water pump (metal impeller) thermo, tensioners/rollers
2- rear pads/rotors (hawk HPS pads/ oem rotor)

    Mods to be installed:
1- neuspeed tip and filter (possible heatshield)
2- FMIC ( evolution motorsports kit) - have to order new clamps/couplers

also, i have a turbosmart BOV (universal) recirc type... (ran one on my 1.8t gli yrs ago). anyone run one? or have any feedback on this move?

looking into testpipes/downpipes, software (unitronic with code delete), n75j valve, ST coilovers...

recently installed a "repaired" cluster for a new lcd display which is awesome!!! and the milage was with in 2k miles. FTW!

iam jumping into this project with both feet... lol. I recently sold my R32

    (build thread)

    UPDATE!

RAI 3in testpipe with 02 extension and new downpipe and exhaust installed.

    before adjusting and final setup

fitment was good, no issues with the hardware i was sent. all hangers were in correct spots and it was the correct length.
I believe iam the first Avant to run one...
i dont have pics of the testpipe installed but it does have an "02 extension" but my cel came on today... i'd have to imagine its for a cat or 02 code. prob been about 100 miles since install.
sound is good, deep and all lag that was in the car before is gone.

iam def happy with my new set up.

i will be making a thread to help detail the product itself in the next few days.

got the neuspeed TIP installed with cone filter.

I modded the factory heat shield to work with it. Pretty nice.

I notice some difference in power, throttle response is much quicker.

Lot louder.. still running the stock DV.

this was a pic while i was working on it...

and btw... its a bitch to put in. lol

How was the fitment on the TIP? I'm running a Samco piece right now and it doesn't fit well. There's a replacement from APR on my kitchen floor waiting to go in though

I like the 3M treatment inside. I did the same with my shifter surround, except I used the "textured black" stuff instead.

    thanks and NO... lol.

i still havent got it where " I want it".

I can take a pic of how it sits, which is fine for most and me in this case. but i still need to adjust it and havent had time or a torch to heat the hanger and bend it some.

it was a mutha to install.. cuts on my hands to prove it.

    fitment is wack... lol.

i had to extend lines for the n75 and another vac line.

either way it made a hell of a difference and sound is cool.

I ran into the same problem with the N75. The APR piece looks like the fitment would be better but I'll have to wait until it stops raining to find out.

Very nice progress so far. Looking at your R32, i am sure you have something up your sleeves for the B5.

One recommendation though, you might want to add a sheet metal on the existing heatshield and extend it to the front. You will find the difference.
