Can someone post close ups of the whole car being done. Kinda worried theyll be tiny pin holes all over, also does the dilluted stuff come out smoother? Pm me with a price to do the whole car with the dilluted.
There are no pinholes. The car, if sprayed well, does come out smooth from the cans. To make sure it's smooth and takes half the time - use our Pro Car Kit. It comes with 2 gallons of the pre-thinned and ready to spray dip in your color choice, an electrical sprayer and accessories. It's prices right now on sale for $210.00
How does this stuff hold up to heat?? I'm thinking about doing my y-pipe in white but we all know how hot it gets under the hood of our cars. Any thoughts?

I've got a question for Fonzie. I powder coated some 18's in gold a while back but the gold just doesn't look gold anymore... If I went over it in the gold plasti dip do you think it would look like the kind of gold I wanted all along?
I want this
They look like this now though

It looks a little darker than what you had before. Kind of bronze-ish.

Ya but that's over black which is why I asked. It might make all the difference to have a gold ish base coat

For the grill do you just order the regular 'black' PlastiDip spray? And how many cans do do the grill like the red S4 (BlingOnMyWrist)? Thanks!
You should only need 1 can and I just unclipped the edge of the grill to do it. You can un clip the rings if you choose too also. Black is really easy to get in many places. I hate to tell someone to not buy from Fonzie but I wouldn't want to pay shipping when I can get black in town. But any other color is impossible to find so support Mr. Fonzie haha.

+1
It takes seriously ~1minute to take the grill out and you don't need any tools. It seemed easiest to do it this way because I didn't want to tape my whole car off and I wanted to make sure I could get every angle sprayed easily. Open your hood, and look at the back of your grill. You'll see little pins that you just squeeze and push forward. Push two in and push that half of the grill forward so the clips don't pop back out, then move on to the other side.

Interesting, I've got those same rims and am going to do something similar color-wise ha.
Make sure you prep your surfaces properly if you don't want it to peel. You need to clean, scuff appropriately and clean again. If you gonna do body panels on a car or plastic pieces some type of adhesion promoter wont hurt. I've used it, its good shit, but I wouldn't recommend doing a whole car in it.
Not the best pictures, was in a rush but here's 3 of the Y-Pipe. I didn't do the best job painting/prepping as you can see some red specs from the previous color but I'm happy with it.
man i wish i could get imola plasti dip, my car needs touched up!
IDK if Fonzie offers it but the company that makes it will pre mix colors for special orders

I want to comment on all your project pics - but with my multi-quote feature gone it would be way too many posts. Your pics and feedback are freakin awesome. Those grilles came out really sharp and the wheels are nice man. Really well done, respect to all you guys.

COMPLETED - had a few spots where it's not perfect, but I can always peel those areas off and go back at it again (which I probably will because I'm a perfectionist).

I want to do the rear Audi rings but I don't know how long to wait before I peel the inside of the rings. I read earlier to let it completely dry but then I saw to peel it off while it's wet. So should I use a tooth pick and peel it about an hr or two after I apply it?

you could always completely remove the rear emblem but put tape to mark where it goes on the trunk first, then buy some 3m double sided foam tape used for emblems. thats what i did on my a4

Yeah I thought of that but I'm worried I'd end up damaging it I the process, I also thought about masking it off which I know would turn out good too. I saw how easy it was to peel it off while doing the window trim but I didn't hear any mention on wait time or anything like that.
Spray 4-5 light coats, let it completely dry for 20 minutes.. and then peel out the inside of the rings. Pull the edge of the dip away from the edge of the plastic until you have enough rolled back to pick up with your fingers or tweezers. All the centers will come out easily.

Do like Fonzie said and leave them on. Remember, if you fuck up, you can peel it off and try again.
Did my friend's 325 & tC:
(sorry no picture of the spray on)
We actually only waited like 5 minutes after the final coat. (when it looked dry) I actually even blew on it to make it dry faster.
The part around the rings should come off with the tape, then use a toothpick (or something that will pick a hole in the dip but won't scratch your paint) and just peel the middles of the rings out. If you didn't go crazy spraying it, the dip on the paint, and the dip on the rings should be separated where the foam that holds the rings on.
It may have also made a difference that I'm in SW Florida and its still like 90 degrees out, so the dip dries pretty damn fast.
interesting. wish i knew about that way before i got mine off. lol anyway, i ordered some red plastidip for my stock avus :D i'll post to show how it goes ;) nothing like bright red wheels to piss off the AZ police :D

I saw this and didnt believe it would work at all... so I grabbed my set of summer wheels and tryed it out. I have to say I am very impressed. Once I got them done I let sit over night, bolted them on and went straight to the car wash. Came out the other side with no issues at all.
sorry for how big the pictures are.
also roof in vinyl not plasti dip
As you can see two rims are different from the other two, so this makes it much harder to tell.
I have new center caps on the way to finish off the look.
