^^ This is scratch and ding inventory though, while the B5 is not. The B6/B7 pods were updated to v2.0 last year, so we don't have any v1.0 inventory to liquidate. Unlike the B5 and MK4, we have plenty of v1.0 inventory that needs to go...so tell your friends

So is gauge loose or does it become loose in the v1.0 pod? If so then do most people mod the pod to hold the gauge firmly?

The change to include the dots was to take into account the cooling factor when the pod is ejected from the injection mold.

The majority of the pods are perfect, but there are some pods opening can be too tight, others a fraction of a millimeter too big.

If the gauge is loose then a 1" strip of black tape will take up the gap and be very snug, that is how small of a variance we are talking about but it is enough that I wanted to take care of the issue.

So to answer your question: No. You do not have to mod the pod.

Here is a picture of the $5000 modification to the injection mold to have the dots made to ensure a snug fit, shown here is a B6 P2 pod

The blue needle gauges are a limited edition run to get a gauge out for the new Golf/Scirocco R/R32 crowd as it was in big demand, however, hand making each one of them does take its toll on my engineer.

I'd guess they will be available for a few months until he is tired of making any more for me.
