    B8 A4 Build Thread--2009 Prem+ Ibis White Avant UPDATED!!!!

So, I used to have a modded BMW E61 wagon--loved that car. M-Tech front end, lowered with H&Rs, Dinan exhaust, sways, strut, custom air box, lots of cool gadgets.

I was "that guy" on the freeway. You know, the one who, in stop and go traffic, rear ends the person in front of them for not paying attention? Needless to say, I was VERY sad at the death of my baby after 160k miles.

Fast forward to the good news--I found a GREAT car out of state with an auto broker in oregon. Nearest I can tell, the broker bought it off a dodge dealership. Apparently the previous owner traded this in--it was their "vacation home" car. Car's in-service date was 9/21/9; when I picked it up last month, there was only 6955 miles on it!

Enough about me, the car is a 2009 Premium Plus Avant, with Nav package and Sport. Already had Audi Care (found out at the dealer when they said "see you for your 15k service!), tint all around (35% 3M) and a clear bra. So that saved me a couple grand.

Total cost of the car (which was PERFECT by the way)**$32,900!

So, here's the car when I got it home, in stock form:

First thing was finding a set of RS4/19" Package wheels on Audizine. Picked these up for $1200/shipped--unreal price considering the tires only had 15k on them!

Since the new wheels showed so much caliper; I quickly figured that there is NO WAY silver would do:

So, a couple mods were made and I thought that a GIAC chip would be the way to go--so that's installed. Also, did a nice RS5 Pedal conversion, which really mates well to the black sport interior. I quite like the look.

Searching on these forums--I noticed that the "black rings" look really clean on debadged white cars, so decided to have a little fun of my own:

Part 2 coming soon. I've got an AWE quad exhaust valence, an APR quad diamond tip exhaust, an 034 motorsport turbo inlet hose--and to match the front end; a matte black grille with black chrome!

    UPDATED 12/17:

    Part 2 is here!

Looks great! I actually like your OEM sport wheels better than the RS4's though.

This. I'm quite tired of RS4 wheels. At least tell me they are genuine (off an RS4), and not just RS4-style.

Otherwise, it looks like you're headed in the right direction.

    They are OEM wheels, yes.

Great find on the car but I'd have to agree with the rest on the wheel choice

Maybe I haven't been on the A4 seen for a long time, but I'm sorry...I love the B7 RS4 wheels on Avants...not so much sedans. But on Avants, they just do it for me. They're not fancy, they're not over the top. They're simple...and as far as I'm concerned, Simple is the fine line between plain and elegance.

^ I agree. I ran them as winters on my B6 S4. I will say, I love the look of ALL Audi's OEM S/RS/S-Line wheels. They've done good things.

I think I'm just bored of them. It's the same wheels on everybody's car (including my old one). That and I think the OEM B8 wheels are pretty nice looking.

So the exhaust is on (another thread about that possibly) with valence, new turbo inlet hose, and some Xenonmatch Hoen H11 fog lamps, and a black matte/black chrome OEM grille.

Decided to give her a bath today, and go do a couple laps down the road in farm country. Lighting was good--so pics had to be taken.

    Mods now include:

    Various VAG COM mods
APR quad black diamond catback exhaust
    AWE quad Valence
    RS4 OEM wheels
    Black Chrome/Matte Grille
    RS5 Pedals
    034 Turbo Inlet Hose
    Black calipers
    GIAC Chip
    KN Filter
    Tint
    Clear Bra
    Debadge w/ blackout rings

    On to the pics:

Next Mods will be this week:

    Eurocode Alu Kreutz
    Hotchkis Sways F&R

    Woot woot!

Just a head's up--but I just installed Hotchkis sways (ARB's front and rear) and a Eurocode alu kreutz stabilizer.

I am VERY happy with the mod thus far. HUGE difference in the handling of the car. It now handles like my BMW used to....which is pretty darn good for a stabbin' wagon.
