1k is crazy! by brakes do you mean pads, or the calipers themselves? I say do it yourself, barring any stupid setbacks (i.e. strip the fuck out of the rotor screw like i did lol) it shouldn't take more than 30 min a corner... its only a few bolts to get the calipers off
Anyone know a reputable place to replace my brakes and rotors in Denver? Dealership in Littleton wants over 1k to do the job.
Thanks!
Autosportwerkes in broomfield CO is pretty good I hear. A little pricey though, I think they charge $115 an hour andquoted me 4 hours to do the job so $460 NOT including parts. Ended up doing it myself.
A grand? Shit... Buy the pads and I'll do it for ya for way cheaper. Friday morning I'm wide open and am having DrumnJuny over to put a test pipe in. Maybe we can bust all kinds of work out.

ya we can definitely do both. got my boost gauge in today with a little phone help from JR haha. was worried about wiring to the headlight because of the auto switch... and whether it would sap power while the car was off if i left the switch in auto? but i guess it doesn't... last test is whether or not the gauge stays on when the lights are off (during the day, in auto). had a good time doing it, really easy install haha

Your welcome. Shame we live on opposite sides of the world.
I'm going to DIY my front brakes and I have pads but one of my rotors is toast so I'll replace as a set but is there somewhere reasonably close to Westminster where I can pick up quality rotors? I know I can get stuff from Autozone/O'Reilly's/etc and I'm fine with basic OEM, but I'd like to pick up parts tomorrow (Friday) so I can knock this out Saturday morning.

Suggestions?
Rotors are something I just would not buy locally. I mean, you should be able to buy some nice slotted/drilled rotors online for cheaper than oem. I understand being impatient, but it's not like you replace rotors every day. Do it nice.
I'm looking at the Zimmerman cross-drilled rotors, but honestly, I don't drive that hard, and the extra $80 between them and plain old OEM doesn't seem worth it. If you have some suggestions, I'm all ears.
If you're going with OEM rotors call up a shop like Bluewater Performance (72nd & Federal area) or Autosportwerks (120th & Wadsworth area) as they should be able to source them fairly quickly for you.

Thanks! I'll look them up tomorrow. I work off 108th & Wadsworth so Autosportwerks is incredibly close. I've found Zimmerman drilled rotors for ~$180 to my door; hopefully I can get even lower than that with local parts..... wish me luck.
Autosportwerks sorted me out for right about $200, same day delivery. They're only about 10 minutes from my office and on my way home. They've helped me out with VAG-COM before too. Awesome group of guys there. I'll go back to them when I need help that I can't sort myself.
