IMO your car looked perfect with the flat fives (but I'm a bit picky on wheels). I so want a set of those on my car, I'm just having trouble sinking anymore money into my car at this point.
Although I'm sure most will look at this as a downgrade, have you considered going to a .48 A/R 4 bolt turbine housing with a stage 3 turbine? If you look at my build thread you'll see that they're not as small as you might think. What's interesting though is that the 5 bolt Ford style with the internal wastegate provision are a lot smaller than the 4 bolt non-internal. So that's where people may get that impression.
Hell, if I can run 25 PSI on a 60-1 through my .48 housing you should be able to run the same, if not a little more on the .48 and it may very well make the car a lot more liveable. Besides, it's not like it would cost a whole lot, $200 or so. Call Jess at pureturbo.com (or net) and ask him what he thinks. The guy knows what he's talking about, especially when it comes to the T3/T4.
I will most likely not be staying with the 50 trim.. Or a journal bearing turbo for that matter, but I have thought about putting my .48 housing on it several times and never ended up having to pull the turbo off so it didn't happen.. I think for the price and the power it's a great option, but in order for it to perform how I want I believe I will need some newer technology

Fair enough, there are so many new offerings on the market that I can see where you're coming from. However, if you wanted to keep that exact same turbo footprint and throw some rods in, may I suggest a 60-1 with a stage 3 turbine and a .48 A/R 4 bolt housing? I know that Jess at pureturbos.net can hook you up with one for a really good price. However if you have your heart set on something a little more 'nouveau' see what kind of deal Jess will give you on a BB Billet Precision turbo. He's a Precision dealer, so he can shoot you some pretty good deals. I know I may sound like I'm schilling for him, but I honestly found that he had the best prices and really good customer service.

will keep that in mind fo sho'
updated the 2nd and 3d posts with more info on whats going on
Amazing.
Even the homemade grille was looking good.
Any plans on the silver b5?
eh.. its chipped and has a forge 007.. i bought a set of coilovers for it, and have some wheels laying around but who knows if or when they will make it on the car
I'd marry it, if that was legal. I'm totally gay-bones for it.
PTE6262 w/ .63 A/R turbine = 28psi @ 5.3k rpms
CT4-6262 w/ .82 A/R turbine = 28psi @ 4.8k rpms
and with the Comp I see 1psi at 2.3k rpms. haha. so when just cruising in traffic, I still have more than enough power to overtake and keep up with traffic.
thats pretty awesome.. i see literally 0 psi till about 3400-3500
That leads me to think it may be related to your tune or hardware. I mean, I'm at 3500 ft and I'll see 1-2 PSI at 3000 on my 60-1. Yes, I don't hit full boost until 5000 RPM. But it's ramping up from, oh, I don't know, 5-6 PSI at 4000 RPM to 22-23 PSI by (or whatever I set my limit to) at 5000 RPM. I know you're running a .63 A/R turbine housing, but at your elevation with the lighter 50 trim compressor, you should be seeing some kind of positive pressure at 3000 RPM.
What are you running for a manifold? IIRC it's an ATP one right? Maybe that's part of the spool problem. Mashing your exhaust pulses together hurts things most at low RPM. I'd be curious to see if my equal length, 5/16th steel pipe manifold actually makes a difference vis a vis an ATP one.
