That weird new guy, Lazer Red Timeline (Lots Of Pics)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys i have been a member of this site but have never actually posted anything, so i thought i would introduce my self, i have many different aliases in the vw/audi world some call me Black Aj, Tpain, Blage or Blaggio. I recently picked up my second b5 (first one was short lived), story will come later. But heres my red joint and a couple of the other cars i've owned.

*edit* Motor Build Starts on Page 4 or click here:http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...Of-Pics)/page4

A couple shltty pics the p.o. sent me before i bought it..

Immediately removed that stupid quattro badge from under the trunk, we all know thats not supposed to be there and cleaned it.

Had my buddy over at JFJ Autoworks do the timing belts and we took care of the 15+ vaccum leaks to achieve this..

    No Cel and this

around 18 lbs of boost, was at about 8 when i bought it.. (if you couldnt guess its chipped)

    Then i fixed the ecodes

Had to replace the two autozone special front axles that came in the car. Both broke within 2 months of owning the car and were put in right before i bought it.

Then picked up some oem roof racks

    some of my previous cars
oh yeah and my previous cars as promised:

    Green Joint:

Black joint and my pride and joy:

And the my first audi that lasted 3 months.

had a couple other mark 3's but they were turds:thumbup:

Then tackled that faded lip issue today, the heat gun worked out perfectly, it was like magic.

    Before

    After

    Heres another before and after

    Worked on the grill's too

Short crappy video so you guys can see the magic happen

    And the finished product

H&R Springs on vmaxx struts, took about 2 hours for the first 3 and about 5 for the last one :screwy: stupid rusty bolt. Heres some pics, raising the front in the morning.

had my resonator removed to open up my exhaust a little cause it was way to quiet.

did a mini iphone photoshoot with this car i found hard parked in a parking lot down the st from the exhaust shop

finally got my lower door moldings in from ecs and installed heres some before and afters
    before

    after

took the headlights out to remove all the residue from my old amber corner bulbs that was caught in the headlights

i know it doesnt seem like a big deal but it drove me nuts

    got it all back together

also picked up a working cupholder from the junkyard for 10 bucks:thumbup:

    future plans:
    wheels
motor build one this once shlts the bed
    audio
    hids
keep that bltch clean and running

    Laser Red! Love it!

Your thread makes me want to get of my butt and fix all the little things wrong with my car. And that heat gun is *magical*. My valence is fine, but I definitely need to do that to my grilles. And those roof racks look delicious.

Also, lol @ "joint". So that means if I race you and I win, that means I "smoked a joint". <<See what I did there?

Saw this work on plexi-glass. Didn't know it'd make black plastic black again.

How the hell did you take the headlight out without taking the bumper off? I wanna know. Oh, and the heat gun trick is friggin sweet..I need to do that asap!
BTW Lazer Red FTW! You should think about painting the roof black.

There are two torx bits on top, and one way down low on the outsides of the housings. Bumper removal is not required.

truth^^ i dont think it would even make anything easier by taking the bumper off cause the 3rd torx screw is behind the headlight.

My headlights are held on by three torx screws. Two on top and the PITA one is behind the bumper. So I HAVE to remove the bumper to take out the headlights. Oh..btw..I have a Pre-facelight. and get this..FWD oh and also..no sunroof....and "Jackie one more thing"..non-bose, and non heated seats. But I still LOVE her!

I have a prefacelift too with three torx screws on my headlights. two on the top and one on the side I just used a torx screwdriver and angled it. Didn't have to take off the front bumper at all.

And OP looks great! I definitely have to try this heat gun thing on my grilles

Yeah, that one behind the bumper I just use a ratchet with a long extension with an extendable magnet to get the bolt when it surely falls.

x2 on that! I remember you telling me about it on Vortex, but I'm impressed how it came out. What process did you use to bring the front lip back to life? Also how is it holding up since you did it? I'm tempted to try it on both my Passat and A4...and even my neighbor's Pontiac Aztek!

To refresh black plastic trim, I use peanut butter (not joking) or peanut oil to remove any wax, then a portable $25 steam cleaner to get out the dirt and grime. Works well.

im not sure if it melts it a little or it just brings the oils pack out to the surface because he surface does not look different (like it would if you melted it) it looks stock

Just hold the gun up to the fron valence and let it go to work, be careful not to let the gun touch the lip or it melts it immediately. Its held up alright there are a couple spots i need to go over but it looks 100x better than it used to. I put back to black over it after i was done to help preserve it
