My friend has* 1992 audi 100 and sometimes it wont start because the gear indicator on the dash says its in drive, you can put it in any gear and it just says drive on the dash. This has happened before, but after some playing around with the shifter, it would magically go into park. It seems like an electrical problem. Has anyone heard of this problem or have had this similar problem?*

once or twice before, just put it in neutral then it will start. could be the multi function switch on the side of the 'box. I have already changed mine once before.
