Got my exhaust leak/hole fixed. Asked about getting a full new exhaust at 2.5" and the shop didn't recommend going any larger as it would potentially hurt performance.

    No.

Looking at it more, I wonder why JHM has/recommends 2.5" piping all the way back. From what I could find, dual 2.25" piping is more than sufficient for the engine unless you'd go forced induction.

Got the wheel bearing out. Having destroyed the upper control arm pinch bolt two weeks ago really cleared up some room to remove the axle from the hub.

Soaked the triple squares in penetrating oil over night and recoated in the morning for an hour. After that, I torched the bearing housing mostly where the bearing meets the aluminum arm with just your average propane torch. With some serious force (and making sure the M12 was straight) I got all 4 bolts out.

Once they were out, obviously the bearing and hub assembly were stuck inside the aluminum housing. I threaded in a triple square bolt and hammered the piss out of it (maybe 3 threads in) while rotating holes to have it come out evenly.

Now I need to wait until tomorrow to have a shop press on the new bearing.

    Cheeeeers

Good job getting the bearing out! I just did mine a couple weeks ago and had to build a puller to get it out of the knuckle. 12 Canadian winters ensured the bearing housing and knuckle were virtually fused together. Even with the puller tightened up and me hammering away, it just barely came out. I'll post some pictures in a bit.

Thanks for the reply man! I'm definitely curious on seeing yours. I'm surprised mine came out as it did. Did you remove your pinch bolt? It really frees up a ton of room for swinging a hammer.

For me Ive learned once those bolts snap they have just become lifers in there! Best bet is taking it to a machine shop and let them take it out for you. It buy a new hot side for the turbo. I ahve even tried drilling out the bolt to and its not an easy task the heat cool cycle on the bolt cause them to become so hard yet so brittle.

Just popped two bearings out from the knuckles with the 5lbs sledge like monicon, but my knuckles were removed from the chassis. Used a large impact for the triple squares and then threaded them in a few and the 5lbs sledge made quick work of it. Probably about 5 minutes each while I was on speaker with the wife, muting/unmuting, and slinging parts from the part out on kijijijiji

Your lower control arms are ready. Did you snag all the upper strut mount hardware?

I didn't wanna risk trying to take them off. Some people say you should have a ball joint extractor.
