    So.... to add some more experience, be careful with the retaining spring clip that locks the cloth panel to the slider. Apparently they're quite fragile If you do break one they're about $19 to replace, the part number is 4B0 877 975 (A). There's a model split at VIN serial 28499 for the 2000 model year so most panels will use the part with the A designation.
    2000 A6 4.2L: Koni Yellow Sport Dampers, Eibach ProKit Springs, H-Sport sway bars, DICE iPod unit, brushed aluminum gauge rings.... and a proven ability to consume (lots of) fuel
