All this can be found by searching. But since your new....

You will need a new airbag - three spoke and four spoke airbags are different. It should be plug and play as long as the new airbag is from a B8.

audienthusiasts.com has a great steering wheel swap DIY.

If you can provide some part numbers, we could help narrow it down.

I'm not quite sure what you are referring to when you say "slip ring"

If the wheel/airbag is from a different year/model, you may need a harness to correct the pin/plug differences.

I've got both types here and although I haven't tried to swap them you should be able to exchange the two. They do carry their own part numbers. Looks like you already have most of that figured out though.

Once you got them swapped you will have to redo your steering angle sensor calibration. Make sure the ring is centred before you start. You will get all types of errors including ESP.

I have a 3-spoke wheel (black leather, used, from UK). 3-spoke Airbag (Kamut Beige) ordered from EuroPrice, when arrives wheel will be re-wrapped to match, all perforated.
Question: when folks refer to "multifunction" here, does that mean the stalks on the steering column and/or the Tip shift paddles.
I have '09 P+ with stalks, not adding shifter paddles.
    Thanks

Multifunction refers to the buttons on the steering wheel. There are models in the rest of the world that don't come with them.

Thanks David, I thought I'd read that some while ago, wasn't sure.
Shame some ROW's don't have - Usually ROW has the goodies we want

I guess the difference is ROW can get the goodies but don't always have them ;)

When I did the swap the car didn't recognize the steering wheel ie paddle shifters didn't work, horn, etc. Had to take pins out of old airbag and retro fit with with new airbag. It's a dangerous process and I don't suggest doing it yourself. I have s5 w/ dsg paddles on mine. Steering wheel is very inexpensive off eBay.
