I hate it when my car acts like a little bitch, treating me like the bitch
FS:Brand New K&N Air Filter RU-3700 (3" inlet, 5" base, 4" tall, 4 5/8" top), Brand New 3" Injen (Amsoil) Dry Filter Setup with Heat Shield, Brand New OEM 06A Oil Pump, Used Greddy Intercooler...throw me some offers
caught me. I accidentally posted my 01 A4 in the first two photos of my build threads, I then just copy/past here.
here are some photos of the actual car we are speaking of.
^^ che che check out mah catch can yo.? gotta stick a filter in thuur... No seriously, that crap is so expensive, damn strait I'm going to use the can for something productive. I have an 034 catch can on the other side of the bay for the block as well ;)
I painted things green, because I thought it would be sweet. Then realized not very sweet. Then allowed friends to draw on it. why not. will powder coat and fab my own intake mani soon.
still not very good photos of the car in full, I'll save that until its actually moving.
alright now, feel free to chime in with any standalone info. I am really leaning towards AEM. Does anyone have a working AEM system in their AEB?
also, Rob, or any mods, can you please lift the probation/restriction crap on my account? I would love to come into your threads and cause some shenanigans.
Yes! This is where this build thread shold have been this whole time! (well, in the projects and builds section of this forum, but the mods will move that soon im sure)
I liked the green VC, but after the IM was sitting next to it it lost its sexyness.
I wish i knew more about standalones to help you though mike - It's part of the reason i just bought my coupe quattro to be honest (for a winter beater), my car hates cold starts, which come all too often living in MN.
Are you planning on staying mafless then? ( I would recommend against that, but its your build, your decisions)
btw - we neeeed to get together soon and find some vr6 TB's (if you havent found one yet)!
look at this thread, post # 207 (where i got my insight)

Come on guys, K03 is stage 1 no matter what you have on top of that. K04 is stage 2 and BT is stage 3. Lets not get like the S4 guys were they need to add a - or + to every stage.
I got mine from JK35 - a member on here. He also is making me the harness for it.
does anyone know what the harness consists of? I assume you would start with the AEM Universal Harness for $200 then modify it for the AEB, but what I am curious about, is what all goes into modifying the harness for our AEBs?

here is the uni AEM harness.
You will still need to piggyback the stock ECU to get the Speedo and tach signal. Are you for sure doing the mastero now?

Rob, I am for sure going with maestro until I piece together my AEM setup. I am going to swing into Stellar tomorrow morning and get everything ordered up.

Awesome Mike,
You are in good hands.

Supposedly I'm not going to be using the stock ecu for the speedo, tach. I'm not quite sure how - I'm just going by what the guy making my harness said.
Awesome build going on. Don't mean to side track, but do you have any pics of the hitch set up on your 01? If you do you can PM them to me if you don't wanna clutter the thread.
Any reason that you're not staying with the Maestro?
standalone is a lot more versatile. There are so many more options with it instead of the AEB Maestro.
if you pull up a specs page on AEB Maestros capabilities, and then the AEM standalone options, you will see the difference.

I can snap a photo. Its just a Curt hitch, it has a U brace that wraps around the spare tire area with 5 bolts. pretty solid, but I would not tow any campers or boats with it unless further modified.
