RIP Avant
Wife was headed to work last night when some dumb broad ran a red and killed our poor avant. Definitely going to be totaled. Frame rails are bent.
Entire front of car shoved to the side
You can see where she got hit

Ok these accident posts are starting to scare me. Its like a little while ago when we had a rash of b7's biting the dust. We need a warning before we see such pics. Ouch!! :-( Anyways glad your wife is ok and hopefully you have a follow up check up to make sure she is all ok. What type of car was that person who ran the red light in?

Ok, I lol'd at the buffing out comment. Well done sir. Only other transportation is the POS rental car we got. We've been rocking just the one car for a little over a year now. Sold my cheapo honda that I was using for commuting when we moved, as I didn't need it anymore (yay telecommute). Successor is in the works

Not planning on leaving. Ask and you shall receive. Painted BTW. Duplicolor Metalcast.

Believe it or not it was a POS '92 Escort.

Yeah. It was a wallop. She already has a follow up scheduled with her primary doc. I remember your wreck, so we're definitely playing it safe and making sure she gets thoroughly checked out.

No part out. Car had only minor mods so it's not worth the trouble. We already emptied it of everything that wasn't bolted down. Spare was about the only thing we didn't take.

She got hit from the side so we're not too worried about whiplash. I think the thing that bothers her the most is her shoulder from being slammed against the door/B pillar. We're definitely keeping an eye on it though. New car is in the works. No huge upgrade unfortunately. Not a good time for that. Likely try and get a similar avant (or an S4 if we can get a screamin good deal )
-
No part out?
You could make some serious $$$ with those gunmetal RS4 reps and (new?) drilled/slotted rotors!

Honestly, i think i would take a regular a4 avant over an s4 sedan. Just because. Wagons are hot.

Saw your post about it in the wheel thread. Pics look nasty. Clearly the Ford Escort's jealousy could not be contained and decided to take out a far superior ride.
I'm glad your wife is doing well. That avant is definitely totaled. Best of luck with the next car/project.

I know. But it's not really worth the hassle. The only extra wheels I have are my purple winters and believe it or not I'd rather keep those than the VMRs (was beyond bored of them anyways). I would like to get the rotors (Adams, pretty new), and pads. but that's about it. Honestly I'm more upset about the full tank of gas and cam follower I put in a week ago )

I agree with you 100%. I should have clarified, if we get an S4, it WILL be an avant. But seeing as how you don't just find those on every street corner, it'll most likely be another A4.

Man I'm starting to get scared! My wife is the only one who drives my baby and I can't imagine if something happened!
I also don't have a single stock component so that would be a pretty rough part out! Do you have to turn it in running? And with all engine components? I would remove everything not deemed critical...

My understanding is that if you take something off, you need to be able to replace it with something.

I think that sums it up pretty accurately. I didn't see any skid marks in the road. I don't think the other lady was paying even a little bit of attention.
