I wasnt going to post a build thread, but with the actual build starting to come to a foreseeable end, I cant contain my excitement any more. So here we go:
Passenger turbo blew at the track, Tony@EPL picked up the phone... the rest is history.
2002 S4 Already installed:
SS Brake lines
ER SMICs
Labonte Stage 4 Methanol System
VAST/ARD BiPipes
ASP Tru-Dual 2.25" Exhaust
Piggy Pipes
Special Thanks to:
[email]Tony@EPL, and everyone at the EPL family, for providing superior customer service, working with my shop, swiftly answering emails
Parts through CTSTurbo.com, who were fantastic at getting me everything that I needed
and last but certainly not least: "The Marks" (Mark Gagne and Mark Ellis) at East Coast European for doing (and still doing) all the work, and putting everything together
I cant wait to see what she's going to be capable of.
I know that shop East Coast European The MARKS are the guys to bring your car too! I was there first Stage 3 car transformation back in 2007! and the car is still in one piece. They def know S4's!
Wait I don't believe it..........?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!? he actually picked up LOL LOL LOL LOL That could be the one and only time! LOL
Car is gonna be fast man good luck! PS change your aux pump to a new one or relocate it for the future.

HA! Yeah, I made a couple phone calls to some shops that day. Tony was the only to pick up. I was thrilled to talk to him directly. We must've spoke (at the track) for about an hour, before I started pulling triggers.
I might have to do the AUX pump at a later time. My finances are focused on getting the build done, so I can get the car out of New England and on it's way here before the snow starts. Everything's locked up in the build.
I definitely look forward to seeing the progress. Let me know when you will be at EPL, I live very close by and am there daily ( who wouldnt be haha). I plan on doing a 770r build on my pearl avant at some point. Good luck.

I'll do my best about letting you know. I have to fly there from Los Angeles, so I'll definitely have an idea when I'm going to be picking up the car.
What kind of power goals are you looking for. Gonna keep it practical or going balls out?
I'm kinda leaving it up to Tony and the boys. I was initially going to go for something detuned and not run alot of boost, etc... but after thinking about everything that I've done, not to mention the money I spent, I'm kinda looking for whatever he can get out of it, reliably. It is my DD, afterall. I'd say, I'd be VERY pleased with 560whp... if he snags more, so be it. Anything more than that is a bonus.
... to answer your question: Practical, with power to spare.
Doing stock pistons? Just curious if you were staying 2.7L. Looks like its going to be a very fun car. K03's to 770s? LOL! Yeah that'll be slightly faster...

That's completely achievable bud, you'll be putting down some impressive and reliable power!

Yeah, keeping displacement the same, just better breathing up top with the 2.8. Compression's been lowered slightly, per EPLs request.
K03s to 770s... I couldnt resist.

... Where's the ceiling? Part of me kinda wants to see what it can hit. I just want you guys to tune the shit out of it I can barely contain my anxiousness.

Aux coolant pumps are optional. If you're going to keep it, at least run longer hose and mount it on the firewall so you won't have to take off the intake manifold when you get around to swappign it out.
Btw, Rich and I will take good care of it if you want to leave it up north for the winter. lol
wtf are you doing in LA anyway?
Frimmel: i only speak when i have something negative to say.
Grah4m: i lost to a giraffe. be careful out there.

I thought you didn't want me to ruin the surprise for you? We'll talk more about how aggressive you actually want us to get with the tune, but you could expect something north of 575.

Dont say that, I need new pants now. These ones got a little tight.
Yes, definitely dont ruin the surprise. (though the anticipation is killing me) The tune will have to be 91, unfortunately, the 'ole CA watered-down juice. BUT, I might want to possibly snag a 100 tune sometime down the road. There's a station that sells it near my place. We'll see.

I might suggest that, but I know the shop has their hands full atm. HA! You guys cant have my car. I'm already itching as it is without one. Plus, if I leave it there. I might never get it back.

I moved. I couldnt stand that area (I will carpet bomb Boston when I come to power). I follow the money and opportunities, and got a great offer to come back and animate for the new Medal of Honor. Not something that I could pass up.

Congrats on the new job and the build. If you're ever back in the area give me a shout.

Update: Engine internals are done. Had to refresh the piston rings and do a quick hone. On closer inspection, the secondary rings were slightly cracked. So, pistons, rods, and rings are in. Engine is on the upswing now. I'll post pics when I get them from the shop (probably after the weekend.)

Love seeing more and more big turbo stuff with cheaper and cheaper builds!
Looks like clutch and transmission going back on in the next day or so. Then the turbos getting bolted on, and everything getting put back together. Not sure when it'll be running, but there'll have to be some break-in as well. The suspense is killing me, honestly.
Oh man, I am so jealous! One of these days... and NH isn't that far from northern Jersey. Money is the issue! If you wouldn't mind, could you PM me with approx cost?
