Well unfortunately its been pouring the past few days and also there is a decent ammount of condensation also me and cyber are both having the auto-leveling problem and both are unsure of if the auto-leveling motor even exists. I am happy with the brightness though. i think i will be opening them up soon to possibly drill inbetween each yellow led and put 10mm white leds in between and wire them to the parking lights. Also i dont like how the leds start at a more random point than the helix, the leds dont follow the line from the hood they kinda just start their own. There are many flaws, but hopefully the main ones get sorted out. Like the non existent auto-level

Was reading through the description carefully. The yellow LED strip along the bottom and to the outside is for the turn signal while the white LED strip along the inside and top edges are the parking/city lights. That means that for the majority of the time, the yellow LED strip will only briefly flash when turning and remain off otherwise. They don't show a photo of that.
I do like that they include auto leveling motors - which makes it integrate better on those cars that came with xenons (like mine) and not get any error codes. Would like to see the beam pattern (and preferably 6000K or 5000K xenon bulbs used). From the other pics on the site, the overall depth of these headlights look to be actually THINNER than the OEM Xenon headlight housings (and much thinner than OEM Bi-Xenons). This would be a huge plus for those using larger turbo inlet pipes and FMIC setups.
Again, would like to see it installed and possibly some videos of it in action when installed on a B6 A4.
the yellow led stays on i believe i been looking at these for a while now... i really like them but i think the yellow led is dumb and the white bar at the top should be the turn signal and the led should be the led's
I drive it like i stole it , then again

The Yellow Led does not stay on, they turn on when you put on your blinker/hazards. They are the turn signal. There may be enough room for a White LED in between each Yellow one that you could wire to the Parking lights so they would be on all the time. I'm looking into that. I also wanna see if its possible to have the turn signal turn off the parking light on that side so it can be seen clearly when you signal. Idk this is all a concept in my head but I'm gonna try it haha.

I can take some for you. Also as I've been driving with them a bit more, I am noticing slight shaking =/. But its nothing crazy. The beam pattern kind of annoys me to because of the cuttoff being all awkward shaped.

Sorry Heath, but the yellow LED strip is only used for turn signals and will be off the majority of the time. How do I know? I have them on the car now...
Night shots... first just the "parking" light:
Add the turn signal:
And headlight on:

you guys should really advertise the Depo/Helix D1S ecodes more heavily, there's a lot of people who would appreciate an inexpensive, high quality alternative to the OEM ecodes

HEY GUYS! I wonder if any of you can answer my question. I currently have the stock xenon headlights on my 2005 B6, and I really like the black e-codes they have for sale here because my stock xenons are to weak. It said that the e-codes are only for cars with halogen housing only. Can I somehow make these fit without any major mods???

you want these black ecodes: http://www.parts4euro.com/DCShop/pro...oducts_id=1919
you reuse your HID (low beam) bulbs/ballasts (D1S), auto-level motors, and high beam bulbs (H7), then buy new turn signals (7507) and city lights (H6W). If your stock xenons are too weak, then a fresh set of 35W D1S 5000k bulbs will do the trick, or you can retrofit in a higher power HID kit, like the 50W 5000k D2S kit from TheRetrofitSource.com.

actually thinking about swapping out my OEM S4 bixenon's for these as the housings are not as deep and look to fit my non-xenon stock car better.....especially once I look at getting a FMIC......

Hello,
I have a set of the black ecode Ds1 ordered and should be here any day. Has anyone installed these yet and had any issues with the autolevel feature causing error codes. I want to make sure there's nothing "known" that will pop-up before starting the project, and want to get them installed right the first time.
Thanks

The Depo headlights are originally designed for use with Halogen bulbs. The autolevel is a European option for Halogen headlights not available on US cars. If your car came with factory Xenon headlights, you will get an error because the autolevel feature doesn't work. To eliminate the error, simply remove the fuse from your fuse panel (driver's side of dash) that manages the autolevel feature.

Got it.
So, do I need to transfer over the motors from my stock xenon's since they won't work? I definitely don't want to transfer them over if it's not needed.
By the way, anyone out there have these specific ones yet. I would love to hear how the install went.
Thanks again for the help.

whoa whoa whoa - he's asking about the Depo D1S/xenon ecode housings, not halogen ones. The Depo D1S housings are pretty much exact replicas of the OEM single-xenon ecode housings, and as such have the necessary wiring for the xenon auto-level motors, though as one other member here found, the connector is apparently miswired (backwards? you'll need to compare the wiring on your stock xenon housings to be sure). Once wired correctly, you'll need to manually aim the headlights, then use VCDS to set the "home" location for the auto-level motors in order to eliminate the error in the DIS.

Thanks Matt,
Found this article on A4 Mods
http://www.a4mods.com/index.php?page...tml&category=6
I don't have the Vagcom but looked at the Ross-Tech site and saw it was $349 and really could use it a good amount after looking at other threads. Also, the Hex+Usb+Can has been suggested so I can use it with newer cars in the future.
What do you guys recommend. Could my local Audi mechanic do an adaption for me after I install?
Thanks again for the advice,,

If Depo does make true xenon headlights, then I stand corrected. The few Depo headlights I've had/seen came with an aftermarket HID kit which means that the headlights themselves were halogen headlights.

The +Can part is only needed for newer cars, so you could get away with the KII-USB option if you wanted to save $100, or your local mechanic should be able to set it for you. But as I said above, you need to physically align the headlights first - VCDS just stores the home location and adjusts from there.

They have for a while (though the ones with the black interior are new), and I did a write up on them not too long ago :)

my write-up will likely not be of much use to you, since I swapped out the D1S single-xenon projectors for some H1 bi-xenon ones, and b/c my car didn't have xenons from the factory so I don't have the auto-level motors installed. But here it is anyway: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/487070

Just intstalled my Helix Single Xenon Ecodes today.
Honestly, the toughest part was the leveling motor where the ball slides in,, on the factory is much easier to get in place (I had to pull the Helix one out of the light just a bit and use a pair of angled pliers). I switched the brown wire as suggested on the leveling motor so it would be in the factory configuration. I also used the factory Covers since they fit better to ensure a better seal. Took me about two hours to complete the job,,, the second time,, and do some adjusting for the beam pattern since it was really off. There doesn't seem to be any "shake" in the lights, except for the one that was missing the bottom screw on the passenger side to begin with (explains why there was a very little shake to begin with in the factory set-up). The fit is good as the factory headlights which was a pleasant suprise. I took a pic of the dash with the car running & Head Lights On so you can see there are no Error Lights. I was prepared to ReVag the Home Postion but guess lucked out and didn't have do that. I used the stock DS1 and HS7 bulbs from the other lights and a PY21 Amber bulb (same on as the tails) and this LED light from Ebay ( BaX9S Xenon White 8-SMD LED No Error Parking City Lights Audi S4 TT S4 Avant #96).
I"ll update later with Beam Pattern and light output (I know it won't be as good though)... Also, I'll update on any condensation that may develop. Hopefully, these will hold up and there won't be any need to buy the Valeo's I've been hunting for for a while now.
For me,,, they are a nice update from my scratched factory ones and polishes off the front end since they were the only "old" part since the new paint.
Yes I know,, the front needs to be dropped more. It will be adjusted to the correct height next week after the ST Coilovers settle in a little more.
I'll post all my pics and start with the side by side comparison of the factory.

Just Checked Cutoff and Light Output. Both were very good & High beams did work well.
Also, checked leveling motors to make sure they were adjusting and they were working fine.

Had a question...
http://www.parts4euro.com/DCShop/pro...roducts_id=528
How do you guys run wiring for aftermarket HID ballasts on those headlights?
What is the average cost of shipping for a set of headlights?
