So today while driving to Seattle my locks started wigging out. They are trying to unlock off and on all the time, and I can only unlock and lock the car from the trunk. I'm going to pull the drivers panel tomorrow to see if somethings disconnected, or a short somewhere.
Oh and it would spontainiously roll all the windows down too, but only did that while the car was parked.
Anyone have this problem before????
Ive had a similar issue in my B7. Tried rolling all the windows up and then once up the drivers window would automatically go back down. IDK, its only happened a few times and I just blew it off.
check to see if your comfort control module is wet. I believe it's under the driver's seat. If any of your drains are clogged and water got into the cabin, it is most likely the issue.

Bone dry. My car was a leaker when I bought it, all drains are clear, under carpet is totally dry. Just verified that. All fuses are good, and all wireing inside door is connected and in good condition.
So whats happening now is I can arm it with the key in the door.(I have no keyfob) But cant roll windows down via the door, or disarm alarm. It will unlock drivers door only, and not disarm alarm.
Only way I can disarm the alarm is to do it via the trunk lock.
i had a kinda similar issue to this in my c5 a6. one time when i came back to my car at work, all the windows were down and the alarm was going off, i was like wtf?? after messing with it some, brought it to my mechanic and it turned out being the actual door lock mechanism that u stick the key into, it was getting stuck or something, making the car think the key was held to the open position, which as we all know opens the windows.
i also had no key fob when i got the car, and we think the over-use of the key in the door led to this, although u should be able to use your key as much as u want. i had the part replaced and got a key fob ($175:( ), and haven't had a problem since. i would look into it.

The master window switch was also a suggestion from another member, so thats the first thing I'm going to replace. Then I'll go from there...
If anyone's following along I'm pretty sure now it's not the master window switch. Had it disconnected and the car still unlocked and rolled the windows down. Well all but the drivers window. So I will be replacing the lock actuator as well. That will hopefully do it.
Fucking windows all rolled down Monday night at some point and it was pouring rain, now it's in the garage with a fan and dehumidifier in it to dry out.
Mine started doing the same thing over the weekend :( Has the probelm recurred in your case or was the master window switch the solution in the end? This is going to sound stupid, but by master window switch you mean the control in the drivers door for all windows right?

i read up on this same problem with my other car on PW and vwvortex.
its the master control for the doors and windows thats in the drivers door.
i believe you need to do some soldering or something...
cant remember all the details. but thats where the problem is located.

I think it's related to the lockout button going a bit wonky. I have to keep mine pressed down for the rear passengers to be able to operate their windows. It seems that if the button is in the locked out position the problem doesn't occur. Either way, called my OEM reseller and ordered a new master switch. I've been procrastinating over a new switch, time to just do it. Lol.

Scanned with VAG-COM and unfortunately it's not as cheap as a master window switch in my case. My drivers doors lock switch is shorting to ground and needs to be replaced. For the time being I've recoded the convenience module to remove window controls from the key fobs so that should prevent the windows from rolling down overnight (I hope, this isn't a good issue to have in the PNW winter when you park on th street).
