It has to be going somewhere, no way around that. If there's no leaks on the floor, it's probably occurring under pressure. My guess is that it's likely on the inner rack seal. Fill your reservoir start the car up and turn the wheels back and forth on the spot. If that doesn't make a puddle then rev it up to 3000-4000 in neutral and turn the wheels. If that doesn't do it, then let the car come up to operating temp and try the same thing. That'll be exactly the same conditions as if you were moving.

on my way home tuesday night i started noticing the noise so i parked it and left it. wednesday morning i popped the hood and the resevoir was completely dry (atleast thats how it looked) so i filled it over the max line to see how much it would drop again.. drove fine - this morning i start the car and its making the noise again when i turned the wheel.. i check the level and its way below minimum so i re filled it now. i figure maybe air got into lines so it just needed to drink it up

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the power steering system doesn't pass through any other fluid reservoir on the car (i.e. like how coolant can leak into oil without dripping on the ground). So if it isn't in the reservoir, it has to be leaking into or onto something.

You're fine and there is no leak IF

    a. the hoses are dry on the outside
    b. there is no puddle when you park
    c. there is no puddle in your bellypan.

    So, 2 things:

    The system needs more fluid.
The noise you hear is due to the air in the system displacing where the fluid should be. That will work it's self out eventually.

EDIT: Most importantly, make sure all the hoses clamps are tight because if not, this will allow air to get into the system again and the pump will make noise.

yep the hoses are dry and not cracked. I dont have a bellypan so it would be on the floor and both days ive checked and the floors been dry.. i remember having to fill up my reservoir last juneand havent had to worry about it since then.. and now its back.. any other reasons why it would be running out like that ?

It's possible, as zumbu says, you might have a leak but only when the system is under pressure. I would make sure all clamps and fittings are nice and snug. Also, you may need to bend and flex the hoses to help reveal any cracks, if present.

So how is there fluid there now all of a sudden? You really didn't check the rack or you would have seen the fluid just sitting there in the inner tie rod boot......hmmmm. Anyhow, glad you solved the mystery.

drop in rods, 830cc injectors, drop in 005, nice intercooler, 5857, = 350awhp all day long on stock small port head and "returnless" fuel system. Turbo won't be breaking a sweat. also be easier on your autotragic trans.

just spending the $700 up front to make your bottom end bullet proof opens up a world of fun turbos.

that's just what I'd suggest. save a lot of money switching between setups. I know all about that bullshit. it's best just to get it out of the way in the beginning and get a turbo with real potential.
