unless they're off a v8 car with the 269mm vented rotors, it's useless. c5's come with 245mm solid rotors.. same as an a4.

try and get some off an s4 if you want an upgrade.

not exactly the same, but not any better. they're still a single piston cast iron caliper.

Well, the rotors i believe are drilled and slotted better then my stockers, and the pads are ceramic still better, do you think they will work?

Should be the same. Measure the rotors to compare. If sizes are different you might only have to swap caliper carriers to get them installed correctly.

if that's the case then swap the pads and rotors over to your car. a4's and a6's use the same 245x10mm rotors, and share the same pads (as do s4's).

some of them came with 255x10 rear rotors IIRC these used the same caliper as our a4 with a different carrier, again IIRC. there area a couple people around using them to balance out there A8/TT setups.

^that would be the s4 setup, completely different. They use a different rotor, caliper, and carrier.

na they use a 256x22 vented rotor, cant use their rotors with our caliper, but the s4 rotors+calipers with carriers bolts on. hold up, I will have a look for them.

all from ecs as OEM replacment parts:
    S4 (need caliper and carrier)
    http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B5_S4-...king/OEM/Rear/

    A6 C5:
    http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-C5_A6-...king/OEM/Rear/
they came in both 245 and 255 non-vented with two offsets, 1.5 and 1.75"

If you get the parts for free I would go for it, its like a 10 min job and replacment parts are the same cost. I would imagine most A6s came with the 245s though. See if the fronts are 312x25 then you could upgrade them as well, dont know if the carriers will bolt up or if you will need TT ones though.

The backs should do, it depends on which engine weather you will just need the carriers and the disks, or if you will need everything. the V8 came out with 269x22 rears, so you would need everything. it would also be a good idea to go with the fonts from the same car which are 321x30s the calipers wont bolt up, you will need adapter brackets, or you could go with the A8/TT setup to balance. The 2.7T came out with the 321 fronts (same as above) but one of the 245 or 255 rears from my previous post, all of the NA V6s came out with either the 288 or 312 fronts and 245 or 255 rears. the rears of these you will only need the carriers if it is the 255 or it is the same as the ones you have already (245s), the fonts im not sure if you will just need the carriers or if you will need everything, it depends on the bolt patten on the uprights.

They will be 245 or 255 rotors, I cant tell you which, the only way to know is with part numbers or to measure them. they should just bolt to your uprights and you will only need the caliper carriers, this is good it means you dont have to disconnect your stock caliper. You might want to check in the C5 section to be absolutely sure they didnt change the uprights, just because it is the last year before the C6 came out, but i wouldnt think they did. for free I would say just go for it and see. the only thing that happens if you cant bolt the carrier to the uprights because they used a different bolt patten, you chuck em out, havnt lost anything.
If you do need adapters, its a waste of money, just find some S4 calipers, it will be cheaper and better.
