Can someone answer some questions i have B5 A4.

Well, i am planning on going stage 2 very soon and i don't know what to get completely. I know i need a tune, but i don't know if i need injectors, MAF, front mount. What i have done so far is, exhaust, diverter valve(710N), and airbox mod. Is a 710N good enough? Do i absolutely need a FMIC? I emailed a local shop and they kind of got me confused, they said "Are you will to upgrade your injectors or MAF? If so you can make more power. What is your budget?" I did a bit of searching and i found that injectors wont really help you until you get a larger turbo because they don't make a chip to work with the larger injectors. This is where i get confused, the shop was going to do a apr tune, so why would they recommend something that wont really help? My budget is between $700-$800, i was just talking to this shop for an idea of a price for the chip, i already talked to another shop about a GIAC chip and they said $350, then i found a rectech intercooler for $375 shipped, and then i would buy a turbo inlet pipe on ebay for $50 shipped. Is that all i would need?

Please help me out a little bit, the shop is taking a very long time to email me back.

I am pretty sure a B5 A4 Stage 2 tune is pretty much the same as a Stage 1 tune but with the secondary O2 coded out so that there is no CEL due to the test-pipe [correct me if I'm wrong].

I am pretty sure stage 2 is chip/tune + exhaust. I have exhaust i am looking for chip, its just the supporting mods i am wondering about. They are not really even supporting mods, just bolt on stuff. I just don't think injectors will help any because of the thread i posted the link to. The front mount i don't believe is necessary but it adds a bit. The MAF is the main thing that will help out most?

If you are referring to the APR Stage two thing, here it is:

    Exhaust System - 2.5" - 1.8T Quattro
    Carbonio Intake - 1.8T
Turbo Compressor Inlet Hose - 1.8T
Turbo Throttle Body Hose - 1.8T
    Intercooler - 1.8T
    R1 Diverter Valve - 1.8T
    Snub Mount - 1.8T
    Gauge Pod - 1.8T

What are you trying to do with a MAF? It isn't going to help unless you are tuned for a different one.

Stage 2 only really requires upgraded exhaust (HFC or TP and 2.5" or larger piping from there on), diverter valve (710n is fine), and the stock air box will be more than sufficient (they recomend a CAI, but eh) despite what they tell you. Your IATs will be rather high, because the stock intercooler is less than effecient than anything other than stock boost settings and it will heat soak rather quickly. So, an intercooler would be recommended here and I would suggest the same. Everything else stays the same, including MAF, injectors, and fpr. The B6 is different, but really the same. They just need to change the injectors due to having a static fuel pressure system.

So, what i was originally going to do is great? Racetec front mount, giac chip, turbo inlet pipe, throttle body pipe, and a boost gauge just cause. So what the shop told me is junk? Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent throttle body pipe?

APR I think has the best rep for the throttle body pipe. As for turbo inlet, I would choose the ER one simply because it is solid aluminum. And what the shop told you was not junk. They were just going by what is the proper way, protocal, or whatever procedure they must follow. But really, you don't need to do all of that. Just a full exhaust system, upgraded dv, and upgraded intercooler will be just fine. And you should already have a boost gauge in your car. I had one when I was bone stock.

I dont have a boost gauge yet because i never really looked into it, i think i am just going to buy a vdo and mount it in my vent. As for TIP i think i will get a ebay one until i get some extra money for the ER one. Don't some people run stock throttle body pipe?

I run all stock rubber hoses, and my tune is written for 21psi. I have a huge exhaust leak right now, so I don't see those numbers. But I will, come next week (getting a new dp made). The Stg 2 tune is written to be used on 93 octane fuel and anywhere from 1.3-1.5 bar (18-21psi). Regardless of what tune, it is still the same amount of pressure I am running from the same turbocharger.

I have a fair amount of mods, and I have my turbo kit sitting in my room. Just never got around to installing it, and need 2 more peices to complete it (downpipe for the PSi Concept T3 manifold and intercooler). I just never felt the need or urge to aquire the silicone hoses. I still run braided vacuum lines and replace my ones that are cracked with more braided, prone to failure lines.

And you'll be fine, as far as your hoses go. If they do happen to rip, then look into upgrading. That's what I would do, anyways.

Nice, i think i am going to go to ft's unless i find a used gt28 kit in the classifieds for a decent price. Also, yes if they break/rip i will up grade them.

Well i am going to jump start this thread again. I got a email back from the shop today and they said that with 310cc injectors i can make 200-210 whp, is this true, from what i have read stock injectors work fine for stock turbo. I kind of think the shop is just trying to sell me stuff.

I'm sorry I had to laugh at the title.

Posting in the B5 A4 section declaring that you have a B5 A4; A little contradictory.

As for the info in which you wanted it looks as if Seerlah has taken care of that - as always his info is on point.
