    I need someone to point me in the direction of the ebay front mount that most of us use. A link would be wonderful. Please and thank you.

Can anyone correct me if any thing i said was incorrect?

    Any idea(links) i am only a k03 car, i think i am going to go with the one vinny posted, a giac chip, ebay inlet pipe, and i need to find a fairly priced throttle body pipe. I may also start looking into air filters, even though stock should be fine.

    That last one is way too big for a ko3 car.

    Maybe this?

    It's a bit spendy, but people have good luck with them.

    hmmmmm, so you would not recommend any of the other ones posted? Is it because of size or quality?

    The one gumby recommended has molded pipes for the A4 specifically so you should be able to install it easier.

    Would it perform better with the molded pipes or would the diy kit be comparable?

    I mean, technically speaking. Yes it will perform better in the intercooler piping since you will have less turbulence due to having the connected pipes and the size difference going from silicone to pipe and back again. However, the difference is going to be quite small given that both sets of piping are the same diameter. The biggest difference you would see between intercooler kits is the actual intercooler. Not just the core, but the end tanks.

    So between the two options of molded pipes and DIY pipes, you won't notice a difference except during the install process since molded will be easier.

    Would the one vinny posted be fine, on another note, how do you like the 4:1 dif mod?

    I mean having no intercooler would technically work. It's just how well it would work that becomes a different story. I honestly couldn't comment on the intercooler but the piping certainly would work.

    I love the 4:1 diff mod btw! One of the best mods for the money I have done to the car.

    What does it improve(4:1 mod). Also what do you think of this?

    You should really do a search... there is a ton of information on this board and others on intercooler selection as well as the 4:1 diff mod.

    I have searched, i was just looking for a link to the proper/best ebay intercooler. Someone recommended a larger intercooler and i just wanted to know the reasoning behind it. I still have not found much, there is more on installing the ebay intercoolers. Also concerning the 4:1 mod, i did search and i read the entire diy that kompressed made a while ago, i even sent him a pm concerning it but he never got back to me.

    The things I look for when selecting an intercooler are a few key things:
    * dimensions
    * flow rate
    * hp rating (you can get this from flow rate too)
    * pressure drop at a given flow
    * inlet/outlet diameters
    * photos of the intercooler core & end tanks so I can figure out placement on my car

    Without all or at least most of those details, you might as well pick the one that looks the coolest because you are not going on strictly performance.

    Also, if you want to know what the 4:1 mod improves, check the description on Stasis' or JHM's website. Or search for "center diff mod" here or on VWVortex (the member's name is sellingb5stuff on vortex).
