Idk how often they do track days, but Barber Motorsport Park just outside of Birmingham.

Barber didnt have any prices listed which means its free right? They did have link to the Porsche school of driving, it seems like it would be fun but $1800 starting is a little steep.

Mainly stick to the B6 section. On tn euros my screen name is just "G". I don't go on there much anymore. I'll give ya a holla if I get around Nashville.

second, check this out for track days - great "easier" track and usually a porche club, BMW club or even the Ferrari club will let you join them for a group DE. http://www.tgprace.com/TGPR-dates.htm

I've been out there a couple of times (once with Ferrari club) years ago when I had an S2000, great place to learn a bit and IIRC it was only like $200 or so? I've driven Barbers (S2000, E46M3) a few times and it was never less than $350 I don't think (BMW club, Targa66 club). Its a fabulous track but not as forgiving - shouldn't really even talk about the two in the same thread, Barber's is that much nicer/tougher... one of the coolest things is to catch a ride with someone in their prepped cars - really entertaining! most everyone I've ever asked has been happy to grant rides (must have helmet of course), Ferraris, race prepped S/C'd NSX (drifted it around turn 3 at Barbers : ), Z06s, 924/911 porches (riding in a prepped 911 is eye opening the way they swing the ass on those things !).

I dont' know any of these clubs, but FWIW I don't think they allow cars/bikes on at the same event.

I will be leaving for SOWO this year from Birmingham. Tired of the large caravan thing, it gets frustrating after awhile. So if anyone is going and wants to form a small crew we can.

There are several S4 guys that are on base there, but none really active on the forum. Also there's a great car following in HSV, you just gotta know where to check.

Huntsvillecarscene.com is a awesome site showing each show etc in a calendar view as well as a sub forum for discussion etc.

Also Middle TN Valley Autocross (or something along those lines) does pretty regular autocross events and I've gone to watch a couple. Really a good group and a great setup, might want to check that out too.


Next time I'm down there, I'll try to PM you. I'm in Nashville but the fiancee lives in HSV so I'm down there every couple of weekends. Are you going to SOWO? I'm driving down to pick her up Thurs night and driving to Helen that night for the weekend. It's a great show if you haven't gone and are able to get off.

Can't help you with the parts car, you might could look in other areas, like Atlanta for one.

Once you get your car back up though we should meet up, I'll be moving over to Auburn in late July or early August for school.

I have. I am also in the Ft Rucker/Enterprise area. I have had worked done to my old MKVI GTI and now my S4 in APR. THey are a great group of guys up there. Sucks that its almost 2 1/2 hours away from here. But I don't trust anybody else in the area to work on my cars.

I think I've seen you on post. I've seen a few older Audis on post and a white S5, I dont think they're very active on the forum. I drive up to Montegomery for my service because I dont trust the locals to work on my car. The local "Audi dealer" has a really bad reputation. I'm really tempted to drive up to Opelika and go 2+ with the badges.

It used to be Wolfe, now its something else on Rucker Blvd. A begger out if front of WalMart actually tipped me off. I was tempted to get an S5 they're beautiful cars but I liked the sedan vs coupe and there were more options mod wise.

there was but it is closed down. you could lease/ buy the shop it is in and reopen it. comes with lifts and the dyno with all computers and software

spotted an ibis white A4 on OZ wheels today by the px... looked pretty sharp but not a fan of black wheels.... glad to see some class is finally coming to fort rucker. a lot of A4s and A5s running around.

Yeah, I have spotted that A4 a few times. I think he lives in the Condos that are on Shellfield rd near the circle. I am in Honduras, so you won't see mine riding around too much other than when the wife takes it out for the weekly warm up. Well I am headed back to run the simulators next saturday and will be using it for that week. Im trying to get her to drive it more frequently but she doesn't want to feel responsible if something were to happen.

i cant blame her. rucker/enterprise is full of crazy drivers and all kinds of hazards. i was blasted by the landscapers a few days ago and my windshield and driver side windows are in pain. hundreds of little chips and pits.
