E92 M3's pull on me above 120-125mph. They are pretty serious for sure... numbers and specs don't say it all. For me I think the aerodynamics are a big part because I can get to 120 pretty quick but then things drop off. I have an Avant and a Tip so the fact that I can hold off an E92 M3 at all is pretty surprising. Where I live there are quite a few M3's so I've had the chance to play with a few.

Do not underestimate a new M3!

I took my buddy for a ride in my MTM car with just a cat-back and AWE S-FLO and he said my car would walk his APR tuned S4 with a full SSAC cat-less exhaust.

Not so much aero but Quattro is what kills us. Only usefull from a dig then its just drivetrain loss at high speeds!

I thought stock E46's were like 330hp, unless I'm thinking at the crank..

outisde of adding F/I to an E46 M3 it is very hard to achieve 340whp N/A. Dinan or not. Dinan is overpriced for what you get though to be completely honest.

To get 340whp NA, you'd have to go into the engine. Bigger cams, maybe even stroker build. CSL intake manifold or even a good replica is in the 2k range which is good for maybe 15whp. Not worth it to build a NA M3 you'd be speding over 6k easily to get minimal gains. Entry level supercharger kits has these motors producing 380whp all day long.

I make 315whp in my E46 M3 right now in NA form. Best 1/4 was 12.8@108mph rolling off the line. It's a lot faster than my Stage 2 B5 S4 however I can confirm that. But the 2 cars are different animals. I love having both! :)

    I beat e46 m3s in my stage 2+ S4 pretty good...

Now that I am stage 3... I feel bad for them. Its like playing rough with a defenseless little kid.. Its just not right

Walked past one today getting on the highway 34d-4th gear. He looked surprised ;) He had exhaust, but no idea what else, if anything. He was about 3 car lengths ahead when we floored it, I ended up a car ahead or so thru 2 gears

Supercharged E46's only make 340whp. They're about 200lbs lighter then a B5 (no 4wd). They handle awesome, until the rear subframe rips off the car, and you die.

I had some punk in a E46 M3 give me a little smerk on the highway, after I put a bus length on him I slowed back down and his passenger was laughing his ass off lol. Don't get me wrong though E46 M3 is top 5 favorite (obtainable cars) for me. I daily drive a E36 328i right now and I love it. BMW makes nice cars, they have a much different feel than audi's and they have little quirks and Q's that I really like. I'm tossing the idea around in my head of getting a e36 m and adding a little boost maybe in the 400whp neighborhood.

I have always loved E46 M3's. I still have my E46 328i although I haven't driven it in forever. Found subframe damage on it so I parked it and haven't driven it since. Sooner or later though I'll have it repaired... I can't wait actually, I miss that thing.
