Just wondering...how do you guys go about tuning our ECUs.
Being a non wide band...key problem we're going to run into is getting data from maestro and the wide-band synchronized, or if you use a single utility to get all the data the sample rate wont be nearly what it is in Maestro..right?
Guesstimate?

I am trying to get my Maestro up and running. I was able to get it to read the ECU, however when I tried to flash it it said it could not connect and to make sure my Key is on. My radio fuse in the radio itself is blown in both my audi (98 sedan supercharged v6,98 avant 1.8) I cant vag come eithr car and have been told that the radio fuse plays a part in the vag connection. I am wondering if this could be the problem with flashing the ecu?
Gratefull for any help.

yes put a fuse in that radio....I saw this happen to a friends b5 A4, we were trying read codes but the scanner would not read the ecu because his radio wasn't working, once we put a fuse into the radio everything was all good

Do you think this could be keeping me from being able to flash as well? Thanks for the confirmation on the fuse Aaron.

Any way of running 550s(or anything else beside 630/870) without massacring the main fuel map? There doesn't seem to be an option for an injector constant. I would assume ME3/5 would have to have that, since theres different injector files?

What part nr does the maf connector have (v8). The one that goes on the harness. I need to create my own harness, but can't find an connector.
Does everyone buy it of scrapyards or new?
Thanks

i believe somebody makes a kit or something ill see if i can find anything. i just find a totaled s4 in a scrapyard yard and cut the connector off. or post a question in the v8 s4 section asking fo rthe part number and then order it from audi.

Any 5 pin connector from an ME5-ME7 car will work. I used one from a 2000 Passat that had been wrecked.

Hey, I'm new to this Maestro but not new to Tapp, I have a 99.5 A4 1.8tqm and my cable should be here on Thursday....car is pretty much stock performance wise outside of A milltek downpipe and S4 Milltek 3" cat back exhaust, Baileys DV and kn filter.....
How good is the stock turbo file on the Maestro ?

Its nice, with the mods you have listed will go very well. Beauty is if you want more (power) All you gotta do is ask. No need to put a boost controller in to force boost, Just tell the ecu.
There is a map to tweak currently missing which Ive asked Chris to fix, Should be up in the next release. The (Stock) Maf hits a airflow limit and goes N75 limp, 5th gear around 3200 rpms if you have been WOT from anything earlier than 2500rpm

Hi guys,
Been reading a lot about Maestro 7 and found lots of useful info. Thanks for the inputs. I am new to the Maestro 7 tuning suite and I still couldn't run it on my system. My unit is a European AEB with 557 T ECU (chipped with Uni). As per instructions from Chris, I should get a 557 P/M ECU. Got a 557 P now. Problem now with the car is the immobilizer. I believe that I share the same issues with the Aussie market. Anyway, so my tuner had swapped the ECUs and put on the 557 P in. He hasn't done the ECU re-coding yet and wasn't successful to get a reading from the ECU. The engine won't start still. Based on these things, what needs to be done first?
re-code ECU or deactivate immobilizer?
BTW, the immobilizer light went OFF after installing the 557 P. Does this mean that the immobilizer is now deactivated? The 557 P ecu doesn't have immobilizer, right? But my car has, based on what I read.

Highly suggest you to get in touch with rockersteady, a member here as he has solutions for that.

Btw, has anyone reported to Ctapp about the fuel pump stopped priming after running Maestro? Any feedback on that?
I emailed him about it and couple of other things and he never said anything about a solution. I know i could put a switch to prime the pump but that's just plain dodgy.

thanks spindoctor. I have just sent a mail to rockersteady. I wonder what ECU you used to have. Did you change your ECU as well?

But that switch will also make it very easy to pump all the fuel out of your tank if you ever find the need to do that.

Mine's a 558DA. Now running a 557P as per ctapp and rockersteady's instruction. Funny though, after the ECU is read, it shows 557R. Dunno if its me only.
Edit : just remembered as I got the ECU from rockersteady, he did something to it to make it run on our cars properly.

Well, you got a point. But I do find it strange that it just stopped working.

My car stopped priming also after flashing my car.
My car also doesn't hold fuel pressure when off even though I have a check valve on the 044 pump.

And I highly doubt Ctapp will look into this as we're a small(and getting smaller) group of people wanting ignition/fuel control solutions with the stock ECU.

Yep, same here. I got stock in-tank with checkvalve on return line and bosch 044 inline.
I've set my cranking constant to 1300 a while ago and it seems to hot-start okay.
The shittiest thing that I cannot fix is that vaccuum is at -24 and idle is unstable. I've tried everything but still cannot nail the idle with 630cc Siemens.
-

How do you have -24 at idle lol. I'd try adjusting your battery voltage that helped my idle a lot. Also you might wanna try the Bosch ev14 injectors. My ev14 1000s idle smooth. Autospeed was even surprised how smooth theyvidled for such large injector
