My fabricator was the person who originally built that Pro front PFI car that was out in NJ (iirc I posted in your thread you made..) and built Kevin Warrens black SRT4 that ran a 9 out there a few years back. Plus he's done tons of other cars, and he's super excited about doing the S4.. He split with the PFI guys 2 years ago and this is the first race car he's done out of his new shop, and wants to blow PFI and everyone's doors off.. Which is bad for them, and good for me
Nice, sounds like you have it well thought out.. I'm keeping an eye on this for sure.

So here are some updated pics of the intake mani, and a set of custom solid Titanium motor mounts (.060 wall Ti tube, .0130 thick Ti plate w/ aerospace Ti bolts and nuts.) now we can get started on exhaust manifolds! And some high res shots of the 76/75 and that gorgeous TiAL turbine housing!

Everything is in no particular order, Flickr is acting funny w/ the links right now..

    cheers!

Nice, props to your fabricator. I personally wouldn't want to be dealing with titanium stuff ha.

It was his idea... He has a collection of metal tubes and shit, its nuts to put it simply...like aerospace bolts, who the F has those lying around in a Tupperware?! Allegedly the we're leftover missile components, or at least that's the word on the street.

I have ~7"x12" left of the 12"x12"of the Ti plate left.. Sooo gimme some suggestions as to what else we should make with the rest of that plate.

I totally feel you on this! It hasn't been a full year yet, but I'm starting to get that feeling too. But the one thing I've learned throughout this ordeal, is not to rush things no matter how impatient you may feel. Its not nice for your fabricator, or the quality if you rush.

Like Dora says "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming!" and eventually it'll all come together and be twice as bad ass as you imagined!

Some news; our lease was up at the shop.. Property value has increased around here, so the rent was set to increase significantly. I don't want to fool anyone this isn't my full time job, or the fabricator (Jeff's). It's a hobby, and he likes working on cool shit because he's been welding bicycle frames full time and it's a PITA w/ that thin walled tube.

So needless to say we moved shop to a friends shop at his house. I'll get some pics of the other toys there (ie supra, 240sx x2 old and newer, and 2x wide body SRT4 neons... And he's got a pretty sick golf cart.) and updates of the exhaust manifolds.

Plus I might be moving to Cupertino, CA if I can get this internship/schooling locked down, at the end of the summer.

But I'm going to finish this car either way, so Max@034Motorsport be prepared! You might be building the motor/doing the tuning after all.

Hah! I saw the Cupertino part and was going to say something; didn't even see my name under it until I started writing.

Would be great to have you out here!

And I highlighted some wise words in your last post as well; they are 100% true.

I will let you know as things progress.. I'm going to be looking at orange county at the beginning of April, but hope to get a dedicated trip out to the bay area later on.. Trying to find the best fit for me as far as schooling goes.

Good news! Made a big dent in my quest for parts today!

    Here's the list:
Peterson 5 stage dry sump oil pump and a moroso oil resivoir
Weldon mechanical fuel pump and adjustable fuel pressure regulator
    Honeywell 4 bar map sensor
And a bunch of AN fittings!

As soon as we get the oil/fuel pump location set, we can finish the exhaust manifolds and start on making an oil pan!

    Time to get to work!

While I agree with the sentiment of not rushing or pushing a project, I must say that when timelines/deadlines start going out the window because the fabricator has bitten off more than they can chew, it may be time to part ways with the fabiractor.

I am in no way implying this is the case with your build, just pointing out that deadlines are deadlines for a reason, thus the reason I fired my first fabricator, that and his absolutely brutal communication skills. (failed to respond to texts emails or phone calls for over 2 weeks at a time)

Your build is amazing, keep plugging away
    I don't think I care anymore

There's no communication issues here. Its more or less the amount of custom parts has increased significantly as things have progressed. So things take time to get everything sorted and a finalized plan/idea..

For instance the exhaust manifolds got put on the back burner because I didn't have the oil pump in hand.. We didn't know how big or how much space to leave for it. So now that we have the pump, we can mount it and then have no surprises!

BTW- The fuel pump I ended up getting was an Aeromotive Mechanical fuel pump/adjustable regulator.. All are in hand and the fuel pump is attached to the oil pump as of last night! So as soon as the location is figured out and mounted ill post an update or two, all I've got now are iPhone pics and those don't do it justice!
