DIY: electric Podi gauge calibration for high elevation

This information is for people that live at higher altitude only which requires a fine adjustment to zero the gauge needle!

If you have a stored gauge offset DO NOT do this adjustment.

If your gauge does not read zero when it is powered on but the engine is not started then the boost reading will not be correct.

The reference point of the boost sensor will need to be adjusted to zero the needle at your altitude to compensate for your elevation.

You will be removing the back off the boost sensor, NOT the boost gauge!

If you remove the back of the boost sensor you will see:

- green circuit board with 3 adjustment points labelled V1, V2 and V3

- white circuit board with 2 adjustment points labelled V1 and V2.

With the gauge power on, but engine off, using a small Phillips screwdriver you can adjust V1 to zero the needle.

Do not adjust V2 or V3 as doing so will throw off the calibration of the sensor itself.

Just to clear things up, the gauge does not need to be calibrated. It does that on startup.

However, due to difference in elevation the reading may be offset due to the thinner air and the boost sender can't make the adjustment by itself. The fine adjustment stated above to the sender adjusts it for the elevation change.

It is possible that you may not have to make any adjustments at all and your gauge will zero where you live.
