Question for those with TT-RS front brake kit

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey all, my GF has a TTS with the TT-RS front brake upgrade. Well, it's time to replace the pads and we are at a loss on finding them. I've checked with Alex@Europrice and no definite word yet.

In searching the massive Internets, I've found that EBC in GB makes their yellow and red pads, advertised for the TT-RS. The part number is DP41946R. I dug a bit deeper and it seems that they advertise the SAME PART NUMBER for the TT-S. How can that be right?

The EBC pads are available at Summit for a decent price - but I don't wanna buy em if the fitment is actually for the TT-S.

Has anyone here had to replace their TT-RS pads? Does anyone know if the RS and S, in fact, use the same pad??

    TIA-

Is it the R8 rear kit? Specs look similar IIRC.

Hmm, I don't think so Matt. It's a 14.something inch rotor with 4 piston caliper. Closer to the Fronts on an R8 than the rears...

Gotcha, that shows 14" for the rears. According to Europrice.us, the TT-RS rotors are 370mm = 14.56 inches.

I can't believe that we're the first people to actually need a set of these pads in the U.S. ???!!!

I'll be having a set of these brakes coming in so I'm sure I will need this info too.

Although both 4 piston Audi OEM, you are prob. correct. I followed your lead and found this which I believe confirms that they are not the same pads:

    R8 rear - http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/uprat...s/audi/r8.html

    TTRS front - http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/cheap.../dp31946c.html

Exactly! That's the same site we were on the other night. Now dig further, go to ebcdirect.com, and you can find that the SAME PART NUMBER is used for the TT-RS and the TTS !!! That makes me very hesitant to place an order, without knowing for sure that they'll fit...

Just a quick update in case anyone else happens to search for these. We wound up ordering the stock pads from Alex@Europrice. Couldn't find anything from Hawk or Stoptech that looked like the correct part, so we're going with the stock pads.

Thanks Alex for getting us some difficult-to-find brake pads!! a few more weeks and the car would be undriveable...

Bringin this one back to the top. A few track days and the new stock TTRS pads are toast. What was that - 5 months?

So yeah, we don't want to go with another set of stock pads - does anyone have any new info on this topic?

The Brembos are the same as on a 2010 STI. Any STI pad should work.
Stock (Brembo) pads glazed out at the track the first day. I went with Carbotech CT1001 HP10, and they worked great at the track.
Also, Hawk HB453x.585 (x=N for HP+, x=F for HPS). I plan to get HPS for daily driving for the front, HP+ for daily driving + track use for the rear.

Aha, the cusp navigation is a very convenient helper when driving. At least, gasoline fees were save a lot. In addition, the after-sales service is also very well.
