nice brian.
mop, wheels look good. rings were sent cause the centerbore is too large for the s5 and it has to be reduced. i hope they sent the right offsets. that would be really fecked up if those were to have to go back.

I thought those were custom for your car...why would you need hub centric rings?

exactly what i was thinking. That doesn't sound right at all. They make great wheels but it's not the first time I've heard of delivery problems. Great wheels awful service. There was a guy whos thread i was following on the B8A4 forums with forgestar, wheels were delayed several times and then only 2 were sent out of something weird. I think his name was K1_builder or something of the sort.
Edit: here it is
long story short after two weeks of "being in transit" only two of the wheels had actually been sent out for powder coating. He waited months for the wheels

I dunno guys...waiting to hear back from ModB. The wheels are great and the finish is honestly really neat (they look different at dif angles and light) but not was I was expecting. Jason said they were really dark. Plus the rings piss me off and the et15 on the box is not helping. We shall see. The pic of black graphite jason sent that put me on the finish...

maybe if you put the wheels you have in a darker room, less ambient light, they'd look like that pic.

test fit wheels before you mount tires to check offset. no reason to pay for mount/balance without knowing for sure. worse comes to worse, see if you can get a powdercoat to a darker color at a local place and have the wheel company cover the cost.

Will do Raf. Not sure if I will be able to tell the difference between et15 and et23 just by a test fit with the car off the ground.

finish does look different.. like a gun metal. i hope these are the right wheels. like i said beforehand, i've read some bad stories about forgestar's quality control and customer service /; the wheels are great though!
also, i think you should be able to tell if you mount them. the difference between et15 and et23 is over 1/4"... should be close to 5/16". good luck! and keep us posted, sir.. i can't wait to see them on your car!

mount them up without tires, then use a jack to lift the wheel up to a level it would be at if the vehicle was on the ground and that should give you an idea.

even with the offsets he ordered, he was not sure if they would fit. might as well mount them up and see. btw, you measure from the mounting surface to the floor, correct?

Yes, plus you measure the actual width of the wheel (measured width, as opposed to spec width, which excludes the rim lips) to establish the wheel centerline, then subtract half the wheel width from the initial measurement, and you get offset.

hey mol, just curious who gave you the d/x and why. one of the most overdiagnosed 'conditions' in the us. physicians sometimes give a patient a questionnaire, then give a d/x based on that. shortly thereafter the prescription drugs begin.

Coming from a psychologist. He didn't say for sure I have it but a lot of personality traits may fit. I did do a questionnaire at the end and going back next week to discuss it. He is not an rx-prescribing doc so not a huge incentive there, but I am fairly anti-rx (and he knows it) and will make sure this is fully looked in to, and not just decided on a whim.

I was more referring to the picture on that page as it showed where to measure from. But yea the calculator part of it is useless to you =]

Dashcam hasn't arrived yet and I'm actually going to install the show n go tomorrow. I'm waiting on a new floor jack that I ordered as my current one is busted and leaking.
I figure if I build this sub box, I can transfer it over to the RS5. I have a modding disease.

Thanks for all the comments...been busy sorting this out. The hub is correct as well as the offset. The labels are generic. ModB is giving me some money back for the trouble and the fact that I was misled. I spoke to FS as well. They said the finish is just as it should be and once I get them mounted I will not be disapointed. They said at night they will look black, in low light they will look gunmetal and in direct they will look satin silver'ish with dark windows. Idk, it is really neat in person...just not what I have been set on over the past couple months. More pics later with a good cam and on car pics later tomorrow.
