    So then, what was that about, fwd coils bolting up on a quattro, just being a different spring rate?

    Exactly. The vendor posted that the only difference between fwd & quattro coilovers is the spring rates.

    If they did, that would open up a world of options for c5 owners.

    Buy cheap coilovers, buy replacement rear springs @ appropriate spring rate, profit.

    ST's are equivalent in quality to a KW V1 minus the stainless steel shock bodies. They come zine coated though so there is some corrosion resistance. Great coilover for the price - you wont find much negative feed back about them.
