Not sure if i'm getting better with plasti dip or if the white on white worked better.. but it came out a clean matte finish. There is no texture and it's very even. 8:30pm iphone pics.. but you get the point..

Could you please share the proper technique you used when doing this?

How did you cover the grill, SC badges and stuff...did you spray through all the cracks... Just as much detail as you can please!

Really need to see it in person or pictures with a DSLR to say...

I don't trust Iphone pictures, they hide a lot of imperfections. But definitely looks better than the black plasti-dip.

trust me.. i would be very descriptive of any problems. it really came out flawless.

Do you just peel the plasti off the badges when your done? Can you wash your car with this stuff??

yup just remove it from the badges. yes you can wash it, i washed it an hour after it was finished to clean it up after the trimming

how long did the whole job take? including taping/prepping/trimming?

also for example the trimming around the trunk audi logo, did you trim inside the circles as well?

THe whole job took about 5 hours including prep, taping, trimming, painting, ect. The first time i did it, it took about 6.5 hours.

because i've gotten so many requests - I'm going to put together a step by step focusing on how to and tips. it's really, really easy to screw up.

Matte black wheels look ok on some cars, but IMO your car just looks dull now

- I applaud your effort and creativity, I just don't think it looks good in the slightest.

Maybe if I saw it in person, it would change my mind. But those flat black wheels really make the car look dull

thanks for putting that together. i have a feeling its much more of a pain in the butt than some people realize.

Looks good. Much better than the white. Personally think you should have left the rings alone, and the wheels/tires are just too black, but the paint job itself looks pretty good compared to your black effort.

the rings had to be removed for the time being - i have to go back and re-black them out along with the badges. the wheels look way darker in these pics that they are - i think the daytime pics should reflect that

There was never a doubt in my mind that you would pull this off! Came out great! Matte white looks quite elegent and aggressive at the same time! Love it! Oh, the only thing I might do different is either remove the matte platidip from wheels (your wheels are stunning) or finish them in a more gloss finish to match the roof. that's it. Major props!

Gotcha, although my personal vote is still to leave the rings in their original color. Needs something to offset all that black and white. Looking forward to the better pics. I continue to wish Audi would offer a couple of matte option finishes.

I like it Fonzie. I think maybe if the wheels were gloss black at the very least, it would flow with your gloss black roof better. Other then that, loving the Matte White finish.

i hate matte anything, but this is better. i would go with gunmetal wheels though, the matte black hides how awesome a wheel can look.

Oh...just another idea to throw at you Fonz...what about the rings on the grille in white? that could look cool...if not...like you said, it's reversible!
