KMD Fuel Pump with APR Software

I'm planning on getting a big turbo setup this winter so I'm going to start by upgrading my fuel pump. I am considering going with the KMD fuel pump because of the cost compared to rebuilding my HPFP with APR, but that is also an option.

I will probably go with Unitronic for my BT software but I don't want to spend the money for Uni Software now. Instead I will be going with the APR Stage 2+ software because it will be free to upgrade.

My question is whether or not I will have any problems using the APR Stage 2+ software with the KMD Fuel Pump, or if I should ideally run APR with APR.

    Thanks

Let us know how this works out for you. I've been wanting to upgrade to 2+ for some time now, but APRs HPFP is waay out of my price range!

    Kind of an old thread.....

But I wanted to know if anyone else was running the KMD hpfp internals on APR/Revo Stage 2+? How many miles on your stock hpfp when KMD internals were installed? How many miles driven after KmD internals were installed? Any issues?

Sure, it will work fine, but why chance it? I would never rebuild an hpfp for peace of mind. Even John @ hpfpupgrade will not service used pumps, and he is a pro. He says there is no way he can promise a rebuilt fuel pump won't fail, so he doesn't do it.

Your best bet is hpfpupgrade's stage 1 fuel pump. It is a brand new pump, brand new sensors, tested, out performs APR's pump. If you plan on ever going custom tuning, get his stage 2 pump for an extra $100 which is proven up to 150 bar, something no other pump can even try to come close to.

Regardless of which pump option you go with, you will still need to upgrade your fuel rail pressure release valve, which hpfpupgrade is your only aftermarket option.

Please note that the S2 fuel pump is for those running big turbos or maxed out Ko4 set ups. The S2 delivers fuel unlike any fuel pump on the market, it has been reported that the S2 fuel pump can flood out a stock turbo car running at 20 + psi of boost pressure, its that much fuel.

Just keep that in mind when you get ready to buy a fuel pump from us.

    Thanks,

    John

Thanks John! That's good to know. I'm still undecided on upgrading my turbo, I keep following the k04 and k0R threads, and it's just too damn tempting. I want to try stage 2+ and add water/meth to it before upgrading turbo. I have alot to think about before making the decision....

Yeah, like John said, the stage 2 pump is rediculous! If you never plan on upgrading the turbo, just grab the stage 1 pump. Just the stage 1 pump is still more powerful than the APR pump. John, refresh my memory. How many bar is the stage 1 good to? It will be plenty for a stage 2+ setup. That, plus the prv will be more than enough fuel for anything on the stock turbo.

How many miles did you have on your stock oem hpfp when you installed the KMD internals?

I had 67k on it but shortly after the pump went and I was getting gas in my oil. But that's happens to a lot of people when upgrading internals from what I understand. But at the same time I had bad wear on my follower so I had KMD do my cams and fuel pump and everything and Audi of America paid me back.
