HUGE shoutout to judeisnotobscur, a B5 S4 guy, for GIVING me this power steering line to see if it fits, and it does!
Anyways, got the line on, fits just like I thought but now the other one is giving me some trouble...
The bolt in the back is 19mm, but you have to take the front bolt off first (for the PS cooler) to get to the back one and because the front one won't fit anymore.
Here she is with the B5 S4 PS line. I also cleaned up the subframe although I scratched it a bit. You can also see my busted axle
Farther back shot
Here is the problem with the B5 S4 line vs. the B6 S4 PS line. The arrow shows where the end needs to fit up to the rack, but the circle shows the problem with the lines running into the same spots.
And here is the old PS line from the S4. So much extra junk on the S4 I'm happy to clean things up

So are you saying for it to be a bit easier an A6 power steering line might be a better idea? I tried to call you the last two days, but we must miss each other. Are you going Soundbend again on the clutch or doing the FX400? I want a stock like pedal, but I want it to last and hold the power. I've got good deals on both I feel, but wanted to see if you can help find a better one I'm game.
Hahaha...dood! If the movie director wanted the car in the next fast and furious, I'd definitely submit the car! :-P - BoostBeeyatch

Well live your life with my money, not like I have a lot but I do have clutch money since my 01E swap plans went away ;) What clutch would you get? Just remember from time to time my wife will be driving the car so I don't want it to be an on and off switch, but stock like feel that will still hold the power. I think the FX400 would be nice, but do you know the life span of a FX400 being a 6 puck be ok? I also kinda want to try the VAST clutch, but paying for my flywheel to be redone for the clutch doesn't seem very fair.

Hey I just wanted to ask if you know if I order up a S4 Exhaust if it will bolt to the car in the right spots? I just don't know if there are extra hangers I need or buy or not since I've not looked under the car in a while.

well I stand technically corrected. I was (and still am) under the impression that the pass. side aux rad was to cool the oil cooler and that this was it's only function unlike the drives side one which is used for other purposes. So it is used in the oil cooling process, but no not an actual oil cooler, that is the other part of the system taking out when using this JHM piece. However none of this is that import here and has nothing to do with the OP........so now on with more pictures Clint!
It would have to be a separate system with its own reservoir and pump to be 'for oil cooling only'. VAG OEM prefers using the engine coolant to regulate the oil temp for many reasons, and most of them are pretty good. The transmission 'cooler' on 01E and auto equipped cars works in a similar fashion, too. The B6/B7 system of 3 radiators was done for space and efficiency reasons. The mk4 VW VR6 also uses an aux radiator.

BT/BAT build threads make me happy I have a stock turbo

A6 lines might even be better, and yes the S4 exhaust will fit fine

Hey what about clutch if you where having to get one? I know you are not getting one now, but why not give me your idea's, and if you know someone to give me a deal I can't pass up I would love to talk to them. Otherwise Hood or my local company will get my order today/tomorrow.

I made some great headway today ordering up the FX400 Clutch and I got two NEW EGT's for $106 Shipped! It took some calling around today to find them, but it paid off for sure.

Ok found out some more about power steering lines. The ONLY line you need is the one from the rack to the motor. The stock one for the PS cooler fits fine you just have to angle it in, I didn't know this before.
Pic for reference of BOTH lines installed correctly for the 2.7T
and the heater core hoses installed...
S4 Hoses (the old ones)
And finally some test fitting before the throwout bearing gets here tmrw...
You are my HERO. lol make a plug play kit so everyone can swap....

OK. Happy Father's Day everyone! Anyways, I did some digging today at the junkyard and guess what was there? a 3.0 B6! I've never seen a B6 there so needless to say I was quite excited and I picked up these bits
If you don't know what ^ those are, I apologize, it's a terrible picture. I snagged the fuel return line and fuel pump cap for $10 total. Not bad huh? So, I will be doing a full writeup on how to convert from returnless to return the OEM way for cheap!
Those plugs took care of the pigtail>car, but I still needed the 2.7>pigtail side, so I snagged these from a Passat! All set to make my adapter harness now.
what color is the interior on that car. Im looking for a black interior.
Wanna have some parts shipped? I have most of a black interior I'd be willing to sell. Not sure how easy/cheap it will be to ship all this stuff though.
