Only reason it is NA is because NO ONE can make me a new exhaust manifold flange. The cost for running this NA is not any cheaper really. I am running full standalone as well as piggybacking the stock computer to control my gauge cluster and ABS.
PS NA Cars suck lol
I have been driving the car daily 40 miles one way to work in the cold ass snow and I couldnt be happier. tires chirp in second, cold starts are awesome. no boost sucks.
Haha I completely understand and trust me if I take this route it will get boosted... Just not right away. With the standalone and everything to get it to this point, how much do you have in it besides time? I'm trying to do either a build on my 1.8 or a vr n/a swap for the time being.
Double DIN swap, pioneer avh4000, TONS of suede, 15% tint, Forge 007, apr/vdo, rs4 grille, GIAC chip, Depo ecodes with 55w 5000k HID's, ST Coilovers, 034 street density motor and trans mounts, 034 snub w/ bracket, 034 aluminum subframe bushings, valeo single mass cluth/flywheel setup, new control arms and axles, evo ms CAI, powderoated snazzy stuff, euro trunk, multi colors, Shaved exhaust cuttout with hidden turn down tips (in progress... again)
Ps. We need more pics :) I'd love to see what it looks like as is, n/a.

so if you buy the mounts from 034, does the vr6 sit in flush? with no fabrication work?
You'll be good as far as mounts go but the 034 12v vr6 engine cradle mounts the engine directly on the engine mount brackets on the subframe. I don't think your going to get away with doing a vr6 swap without any fabrication work though.
i know there'll be fabrication work, im just curious if i could get the vr6 planted in my engine bay in my garage without fabrication tools, and maybe tow the car to a shop an have them fabricate

The core support wont fit without trimming. and the hood probably wont shut.

Yep your core support definitely will not fit with out some trimming and you will have to probably chop up your hood around the latch a bit. Some guys even had to hammer in their sub-frames a to make the starter fit properly.

BOOM. finally got the flange from a dude off vortex, it will be done soon!
hell yes! really following this build. planning a vr swap and a shaved bay. have the bay ready for welding now. Did you build you own harness for the standalone? also are you running power steering and A/C?

Yes, I built my own harness, and yes I have both AC and power steering, I havent made the lines for the AC yet but I am in no hurry now, but the compressor and condensor are there, as well as the power steering.
Normally I try to utilize the factory harness when I do standalone setups, but I already used up most of the factory harness when I ran my ecu on the 1.8t that was in there prior to the vr
Manifold is done, and so is my clutch, took a final shit on the way to work this morning. Once again, the fun is going to have to wait. Not excited. Thankfully Mike Hood did some research for me and it looks like clutchmasters will work with my flywheel so I will be going that route next time. Thanks Mike! Pics to come later.
