    Sounds like self-mutilation to me.

    What's the point?

    Save up your cash.

Or do a search for "Remus", a couple members replaced just the rear mufflers for hundreds of dollars.

Also, keep checking the classifieds. As we get deeper into the B8's existence, more and more members will be selling used aftermarket systems.

You probably won't experience too much drone if you keep the center resonator and remove just the rear muffler. I have a cutout right after the center resonator and it sounds great.

Didn't Nickzag do just the opposite? delete the center resonator and put dual remus mufflers in the rear? supposedly with good results, if i recall correctly.

The problem is that I have a Test pipe in place. I get a loud "Pop" on 2nd to 3rd WOT shifts now. I am afraid by deleting a resonator would make it worse.

I need an option for my single side dual tip-exhaust. should I delete my resonator near the cat. or the one near the mufflers?

When I removed the center resonator on my neuspeed exhaust w/testpipe on my b6, I had the "pop" when I downshifted, but putting a center resonator solved that and the drone that I was experiencing.

If I had a testpipe, I would just remove the very end muffler.

You have a test pipe thus you don't have a Cat anymore. Unless you ran over one and it's wedged in there.

well, that is the whole point of a TP; eliminating the cat all together. My concern here is, I just want added sound but don't want the drone. Would deleting a resonator take of it?

The resonator helps reduce drone...if you remove the one in the center of the car, you will probably experience drone bc you have a tp. That's exactly what happened on my b6

I deleted the 2nd resonator closest to the muffler. I know most single muffler systems are louder then the duels.

My car was the first Remus system for the 2.0 engine, so I was the guinea pig. I'm really happy with it. Everyone thats heard it so far likes it.

As others have mentioned, I'd recommend holding out for a proper system as well. While it may be more pricey, the tone will be much nicer, and you will always have the option of bolting your factory exhaust right back. Cutting off mufflers seems like a bit of a short-cut, but in this case it will pay off to save up and do it right the first time around

    Good luck!
