PSA: Must read if you do not plan to keep your Sirius XM subscription

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My subscription is about to run out in a few days and i'm getting bombarded with calls from these guys. At all hours, morning, day, night. I would suggest the second you take delivery of your car, if you know you do not want to keep your XM subscription, log on with your trial account on the sirius webpage and IMMEDIATELY change your email address (because you will get countless emails from them too) and your phone number to a fake one. A quick google search shows i'm not the only one that gets annoyed with their calling tactics. So I'd figure i'd pass along the info here since I've noticed a lot of people here has taken delivery of their new S4 in the past few months.

fyi if you do plan on keeping the subscription and can wait a few months past the expiration date, they give you kickass deal to "come back to Sirius". The last promotional email deal i got from them was $20 for 5 months..

I'll dogpile here and say that if you ever try to cancel them, be prepared for a fight. They are desperate for money (hence the previously referenced tactics) and it is hell to get them to cut you loose. Almost better to just call your CC company and claim the card they bill to was lost and issue a new one.

Wow, not my experience at all. They have always been very good when I call to change add or delete subscriptions. Sounds like any big company with a service center, your experience really depends on who you get on the phone.

If anyone wants a good deal on a subscription. Call them and tell them your freind just got the service for 37 bucks a year. They will honor it!! Plus I think it's 20 bucks a year for traffic.

They broke traffic out seperately about a year ago so you can just get that, I did this for a VERY cheap price, I think $19 a year for 3 years. It's worth that to me for to get routing around traffic issues.

The Audi Nav uses Sirius for traffic services? I know my portable garmin uses some sort of free traffic from AM Radio frequencies.

XM keeps calling me to renew my subscription for the car I traded in over a year ago when I picked up my S4. Tonight I literally for the 3rd time told them the same info and to stop harassing me....again. Piss poor customer service if you ask me. Totally out of patience with XM's unprofessional approach and inability to "listen" to their potential customers. Sorry for the rant, just sick of telemarketers repeatedly calling me after 8:00 PM at night, especially when I've told them NO multiple times.

Sometimes professional conduct yields professional conduct. Never any issues here with them.
I never realized how dense some people are till I read some posts on here...

Yep, it overlays it on the map, I know there are free over the air services but unfortunately not for the 3G MMI

I'd have to agree with you. I've been a subscriber of XM since 2004. After I renewed 2 radios for two additional years last week, I found out I could no longer log-in on my PC to listen online while in my office. When I called to find out why, I was told that the online service is now an additional $2.99/mo. When I threatened to cancel my renewal, they offered to provide the online service at no additional cost for the 2 year period. It's not cheap but I love the variety XM offers.

same thing happened to me with my B7. In fact, I am have also been getting harassed on a daily basis by Rooms To Go who apparently have "an exciting offer for my recent furniture purchase". It is very annoying.

If their music wasn't so compressed and awful sounding I'd probably enjoy the service. As it is, I'll stick with the 32GB SD Card in my dash when mine runs out and switch to traffic only.
