I purchased it from ebay, the only vendor that appear when you search Treadstone TR6. Easy transaction and fast shipping.

Got mine from maperformance.com as it was free shipping, and cheaper than the treadstone site.

Nope, I purchased both the piping and the IC from ebay but from different vendors. I contacted one CX Racing vendor and proposed him 400$ shipped for the IC piping kit (Basically the CX Racing IC Kit for Audi 2.0t you find on ebay excluding the intercooker itself).

225$ for the TR6 IC + 400$ CX Racing piping = 625$ including shipping for the whole kit. Just need to modify the bracket provided in the kit or make new bracket and I am all done.

For 75$ more than the complete CX Racing kit (when we consider shipping) and the quality you got with the TR6 core you can't go wrong.
The TR6 core is bigger and at least twice the density of the CX IC for best cooling.

$400 for just piping? Really? And how do the brackets need to be modified?

Did you know that in the CX racing piping kit the IC it-self is only worth 125$ (just take a look on the website) and it is the piping that cost the most because it is designed for the 2.0t with quality pipes/silicone couplers and the IC is generic/universal. ATP piping kit which does not include the pipe that connect to the turbo outlet and the pipe that connect to engine intake manifold cost 400$. Take universal piping kit ( with quality pipes that can be welded) get them welded, add quality silicone coupler... and it will cost you around 400$ trust me.

The connector position on the CX racing and Treadstone is not the same. Treadstone IC is also longer... You will need to bend the provided bracket if long enough or make new ones.

Sounds like a DIY you should post for those looking into this to verify correct fitment. Or where to purchase correct-size brackets :)

I will try to take mesurement of the brackets once fabricated, the problem is that I will probably get the kit installed by my mechanics and I do not know if I will be with him to do the installation or not.

Yes you can try to do a piping your self but try to avoid having to many couplers. I other word you need to weld the whole thing together. Some piping kit are too thin and painted which make it difficult to welded properly. You will see that quality piping thick enough to weld and quality 4 ply silicone coupler for high pressure are not cheap at all.

Maybe around 100$ can be saved if you shop enough and do everything your self.

Today I did an other test and it was 57 degree F and sunny. At cruizing speed I have constant 70 F IAT. I did spirit driving and few 3rd gear pulls and the most I reached was 88 F. I am only able to reach about 9 psi at red line(6800 rpm) though...
For now considering the my low boost levels (max 18psi, average 13psi and 9 at red line) it is imposible to really heat soak the stock side mounts when only 57F outside.

I will do other testing when the temp reach atleast 70 F.

Figured, I'd post up a few pics to this thread. Jayphil you have an ETA on when your install is going to happen? I venture, you'll have an easier/cleaner install.

I see that you installed it the oposite site I was planing to do it. Is it because it was not clearing your fog?

I have been busy the past few weeks and I not had time to take care of this. I will probably order an exhaust system and get everything installed at the same time. It will probably happen mid-june.

Can you post a close up of the fins Operator? I wonder if stock and k04 turbo s really notice a difference between a cheaper core and say a precision/garret core.

sidenote: If anyone in here wants to sell a stock driverside intercooler i need one for the wrecked B7 A4 i just bought. 801 867 9629

Don't have my car right now, but I have the same one phil posted about on page 1. And I'd say this core is on the same level as a precision/garrett core, for a little less. But give me a few days and I'll try to get more pics up.

    Updated stock log.
Today it was 88 outside and the humidity was really high, it as a good time for me to do a last log before I get the IC installed next week.
I definitely get requested PSI and A/R requested by my chipped ECU which is good news even if the psi are low. We can also see that the stock IC peaked at 36 F difference from the outside temp. Last time I tested it I reached around 34F peak difference but the outside temp was much lower.

To sum up the stock IC setup is not so bad for my modification but still get a peak 36F variance from outside temp. At cruizing speed I had between 5-10F difference with the outside temp.

I just went with the ATP kit, we dont get very high temps here in the UK so I figured the ATP FMIC would be suitable. I went for the black coloured couplers as I didn't want the intercooler to be visible behind my grille, however I though I might as well go all the way so I ended up getting it anodised in black for the complete stelth look.

Is it just me or is it starting to look a little busy in the front with the license plate, cupra lip, and hoses? I think it would cleaner if you subtract the license plate and add the audi rings, but it's your car of course :)

I am sure it looks great in person! Finally I went to see my mechanics and he is not sure he want to touch this but he will refer me to someone else... In other word tomorrow I will have my OBX exhaust and snub mount installed but I am not sure I will be able to have the IC installed for the weekend grrrrrr...

Anyway it should be soon and I will be fast to post logs after the install. I am going out for vacation on Friday the 24th so I hope everything is installed by than.

I am sure it will outperform the stock IC by far in therm of heat but I am wondering if my APR chip with benefit from the increase in flow to give me 1-2 more psi... or the chip will just adapt and let my small K03 work less hard.

Sorry I only had my exhaust installed which I am pretty happy with by the way, it already started to break in and sound better. The good news is that the IC install will take place next Tuesday.

Have you noticed a change in sound after your IC install?
    I will keep you posted!

I've changed so many things at once, it's hard to attribute differences to one thing. The FMIC went on at pretty much the same time as my w/m, and custom CAI, followed closely by NGK coppers. Oddly enough it seems as if my boost has gone down...... But I think that may have more to do with my CAI than the IC. I think I was peaking around 21-22 now it seems like 19-20. But I'm going on a canyon cruise soon, so that'll give me a chance to figure things out. Looking forward to your install updates (with vids!!!!).

You guys both on APR software jayphil and operator? Seems like your boost is a little low. Cuz I'm APR stage 2 and I peak 22-24 psi and hold 19-20psi on the regular. No upgraded hpfp. I was peaking 19-20psi and holding 16-18psi during the winter though. But now that it's warmer out my boost has gone up. I don't have an upgraded ic yet.

I'm APR stage II, not sure if driving at 5,000-6,000ft daily has much to do with it. But like I said, I'll have a better idea, after today.
