PRND lights SOLID

[C6Q]

Car is C6 3.2 Quattro Tiptronic. The PRND lights up SOLID (no flashing). What does it mean? Is solid worse than flashing? Is this limp mode? I accelerate and the car doesn't move at all...

Mine does the exact same thing...

i was told , it could be the low battery, what happens is, once the MECHATRONIC, a few $K piece does not have certain amount of voltage the Tranny goes to safety. try turning the car on, leave it on for a while then driving....

worst case ,if u happen to take it anywhere for check up... let me know what the outcome is,..

Well, Audi will take my money for diagnostic and tell me that I need a new transmission...that's all they do. I'll take it to a German shop which takes care of my cars. Are you still having the problem?

it makes sense, well im not having problem with that anymore... however, shifting fro 2 to 3 is bad, and when i make a full stop, it feels as the tranny is kinda making another shift, very weird... i still have a few more thousand miles left under Warranty, i will take it for 95K service and ask them what is wrong....
regarding the German shop, where is it located, and are they any good, since i gotta think about once my warranty goes out... .

How did you (or the dealership) solve the PRNDS problem? That's important for me! The German shop I use it's great and what is more important is that I trust the owner/mechanic - I emailed you the info.

it really went away itself , ever since i changed the battery.. but the hard shifting is still there.. i will talk to them about it the 95K service.... and thanks a lot ill look at it now..

Mine had the same problem (hard upshif/downshift between 2nd and 3rd) since I got it. How many miles you put on yours since the hard shift started?

this is the deal, i had oil leak in the front and rear of the engine, right. so the dealer, took the engine out put new seals and what not... at the same time the tranny was dismounted from the engine... ever since then the TRANNY is acting up... they RAPED my ext warranty with a $4K Bill... when the lights were lit up... i took it there then they thought it was the mechatronic unit... i am really looking forward to see what ur mechanic is going to say....
i hope the issue is not big, in any case...

if when i take it for 95K service they dont do something about it, i will call AoA and talk to them, if they dont want do work with me, ill talk to my lawyer...

UPDATE - my car is running again. The transmission fluid and filter have been replaced and level corrected (the fluid stinks like baked sh*t)! Car runs like a charm and shifts smooth in all gears now! I had few weeks of hell, but I see the light again! Meanwhile purchased two other used cars, lol (both MANUAL).
