I need to get back into photography :/. I have a Canon XSi that I got a few years ago with an 18-55mm kit lens, 50mm f/1.4, and a 70-200mm F/2.8L as well as a Canon A1 with another 50mm f/1.4 and a 70-210mm f/4. I'll post some old pics when I get the chance. Senior year has been murdering me all year with work but I'm starting to free up now that the year is finishing. I'm looking to get a wide-angle zoom sometime soon but I still can't decide on which lens to get. btw, vbrad, will you be at SoWo this year?

Anyone here shoot film? It's what I started out with/learned with in high school, developed my own film and prints, really miss it.

I haven't since last year :/ I used to develop my own film and prints as well. My Canon A1 has been untouched for at least a year.

i took a film class my freshman year of college...pretty cool stuff it was a lot of fun

the GF bought me one of those cheap little holga cameras that i have yet to really use...
mainly because i want to get the stuff to develop on my own again...

thank you, ill be going around Jakarta tomorrow. Gonna be busting out a lot of pics. I dont know how to play with the settings so dont expect anything super fancy. But ill be back to upload them.

its cross processed with about 70% yellow tint and 25% blue tint.

Whatever dslr is in your budget and feels comfortable in your hands. Different camera bodies do make a difference, but lenses go a lot farther for image quality. On top of that its practice and experimentation.

Any body you get is going to be very good, cameras have come so far in just a couple years. I'd stick to the bigger companies, i.e. Nikon and Canon as they have a wider selection of lenses and expandability.

I'm starting to want back into photography too as a hobby. What would you guys suggest? I've have a D100 and some f2.8 glass, but I sold it because one; I had no subjects to shoot, two; the camera didn't perform. I'd like to stick with Nikon and one all purpose lens.

Mine is about a grand for the body. I'm really leaning to a d2x, 18-200 and a 50mm. I loved the old 2.8 glass but it really became too involved for me and too much to lug around as a hobby.

I'm open to any suggestion as I'm not invested in any lenses, I'm just comfortable with Nikon.

How do you guys make your watermarks? I am going to make it in Photoshop, and then apply in my photos in Aperture.
But everything I am making is coming out too small, or the it just blends in to the image (wrong colors maybe)?

What dimensions and font sizes do you use to make it fit right? Any particular font color that blends well over any image and color?
