Okay guys i need some help. I took this picture tonight. Cause i was in love with the headlights. Realized i should have underexposed it a bit to get the full halo effect. But anyway. See those blue flares on the top right and left of the car. What kind of filter would i put on my lens to get rid of that? Or a lens hood? From what i understand a UV flter would be okay. But i dont wanna order something expecting it to work and then it doesnt. Also, what do you guys think about the shot. This was my first attempt at stepping my game up. To bad all the car events i go to are at night.
Also, what lens do you guys use when shooting cars. This was with my 50mm 1.8f. But I honestly dont like how far away i have to get to fit things in the frame. Since its so "zoomed" in already. I sound like a total n00b. =D

Yungcotter, Did you use a custom white balance in those? That could help witht eh awkward color tone. Long exposures and those lights do that though. A bit more of the stuff ive done.
I really dont like this second picture but i have it in there anyway.
How did you go about getting that lightning picture?! That is sweet. Where did you go to take all of those?
Thank, to be honest, I just went out to take a picture of the lake and sky. A storm was rolling in right as the sun was setting. There was actually no color enhancement done so it looked pretty cool even with out the lightning. Just pure coincidence that the lightning hit at the exact time I took the picture. The two sunsets were taken in the caribbean in the British Virgin Islands. The fish one was taken through the glass at the monterey bay aquarium in Cali.

I actually really dig those tail lights. Good pictures dude. What lens where those car photos taken with?
Thanks, pics were not the best, but tried to make due with what I had. Lens used is a Tamron 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 IF. Lens was almost 3 bills at the time, but Tamron was running a rebate for $100 or something, so I ended up paying a bit under 200. Not bad..
This is very nice. Do you have a fullsize that you could send me to use as a wallpaper on my computer?
Thanks! If you can tell me where to upload them without them shrinking on me, I can do. I have 3000x2000 copies but it shrinks to 1000x700, doesn't give me an option.
