In an odd way, I somewhat enjoy how the mudflaps add to the car's aesthetics. We can both agree they do serve a purpose though!

The only paint damage on my entire car is from OE mud flaps that the original owner installed. Be careful....

Not even big ass mud flaps can really do much against mud season in Vermont:
I was picking and brushing pebbles off my windowsill hahaha

There are sooooooooooo many benefits to living on a dirt road........ and then there is this .
My wife and I are planning on settling in VT in about 1 year. Almost all of the houses we like, and can afford, are on dirt roads. I'm not afraid of a dirty car, but may need to consider a nice 4-banger, stick, 4x4 Tacoma for the muddiest of mud season days .

Several friends have Tacomas, one is from the Seattle area with 210k and no rust.. still running. I've thought about getting one myself.
A truck with ground clearance would make it a cakewalk. It's just tough with a low car and dodging ruts to avoid casing. The only other thing you need is a nice mudroom to keep it out of your house! The odd thing is that dirt roads are excellent for 10 months out of the year and much better than pavement in winter except for the dust. The other two months and the occasional monsoon... well....

We spend as much time as possible in VT, just outside of Plymouth Union. We are both from what used to be a rural area and are looking forward to getting back to that, so a truck will be useful for many things other than the keeping the Avant slightly less dirty. X2 on the mudroom, we have a pseudo-mudroom here in VA, helps keep the rest of the house a bit cleaner especially with bikes, our very active dog, etc..
First stop is two semesters(for my wife) @ UNE in Portland, ME. I'm hoping to have the time for a trip over to Burlington for Avantoberfest this year so I can meet some of the folks from this board.

found some nice molded flaps at napaonline.com they are 20.00. they look almost identical to the b5 ones listed above. you could trim them with with a dremel cut off tool very easily. after install they look great, just did the front so far and used the torex screws that were holding the wheel well liner in.. works perfect.
this is for a 2002 a6 3.0 avant, forgot to mention...

Mud Flaps
I was searching the Web for Splash Guards / Mud Flaps for my A6 Avant and found your forum discussion. Could you tell me where I can buy the Mud Flaps you have on your white S4 Avant? They really look good and I think they'd be a perfect for what I need. Thanks.

I installed Rally Armor mud flaps to help protect the car from the crushed stone that they spread on the highways here when it snows. Easy install after making a cardboard template; didn't even have to remove the back tires. These'll come off again in the spring when the summer tires go on.
Cheers,
Bryan

thanks.. i've always wanted to vinyl wrap the door blades black - i think it would tie in very nicely with the USP rear bumper with the black inset..
as for the A6, my wife ran it square into a brick pillar - in our neighborhood.. both airbags blew.. everyone was ok, but insurance totaled the car..

not sure on the door blades being vinyl wrapped, I'd say blackout your front grille and audi rings would give it a nice look..

They are just universal mud flaps. http://www.rallyarmor.com/store/univ...ogo-p-267.html I had to trim mine a bit to fit my B5 and not hit the exhaust or gas tank but they work great!

Can you post a couple close ups of where yours mount at the top of the flap. I'm trying to figure out where I want to mount them.
