HELL YEAH! I was thinking about doing this to my avant for winter. You just sold me! Can you post detailed pics of where they attach to the wheel well?
Looks pretty good! How stiff are those mud flaps? I am pretty sure I would scrape with them, but if they are relatively soft then they'll just grind away which is fine with me... just don't want a speed bump to push my bumper out of the way via a super stiff mud flap!
You can put them up as high as you want, if they are to low just redrill the holes an inch lower on the flap.
They are pretty bendy, my rears scrape going into and out of parkinglots with steep entrances, but they just fold back. The UR versions are much more stiff.

Sweet, thanks for the info! Btw, I <3 White Avants!!
FWIW those are S4 mud flaps, which are obviously designed to fit around S4 side skirts, so if you have an A4 the fronts won't fit perfectly. But they're $5 and if their only purpose is to keep shit from slinging up the side of your car in the winter they'll do just fine. Philly, this post isn't directed at you because i see you've got not one but two S4's, it was more a general statement
The flaps at the top of the thread are made by Rally Armor, available online. They are about $100 and are absurdly durable. I scrape constantly for the past year and they show virtually no wear, the urethane is pretty amazing. The universal kit is what you need.
I had a set of rubber mudflaps and ripped off a front one during my drive home from the slopes after the first big storm after I installed them. They are just not flexible enough to handle a shit ton of snow and ice, it ripped right in half.

Those rally armor flaps look great on that white B6 S4. I need to order some of these. I think they're my only option since I'm too low for the solid flaps. The last set I had got destroyed on everything. I finally just took them off in like 5 peices haha.
Put these on with my snow wheels, took them off a week later because they were messing up my paint:
replaced them with ikea cuttingboard mudflaps which sheared in half a week later. Thinking bout dropping the $100 on rallyarmors. Seems like the only good choice
^ How were they messing up the paint? I'm putting mine on this week.
They wrap around the bumper and touch the paint, however, the fit is not perfect and there is enough wiggle-room for sand and dirt to get in there. It got ground into the paint by the mudflaps.
I defiantly miss my B5, but the B6 is more refined and a better road trip car(1000 road trip every three weeks+ 50 mile commute)
Some JHM goodies are in the books for late this summer, hopefully FI!
BTW still kicking myself over your old avant:(
Pick from few weeks back near Ellensburg
B5 with the factory mud flaps. After this year I probably won't run them again, my car is so low they scrape on everything and they're tearing the paint up on the front fender.
This is my car and I like the ones that came on it. They work pretty good and I think they're OEM spashguards. Heres a pic in summer and wintermode from my roadtrip thread

2007 GTI (DSG ftw) APR goes weee SOLD
does anyone know if these would fit on my B6 avant?
I have been trying to find some that are more moulded to the car rather than just flat rubber ones.
