I finally got around to installing my 034 phenolic intake spacer. What a pain in the ass with the engine in the car and all the coolant lines still hooked up.
I cried a bit when I hit a huge pot hole while trying to avoid a semi driving about 2 feet over the line.... I havent crawled under yet but I have a massive vibration... Hopeing its just a wheel out of ballance but I fear more....
In the last few weeks I worked on custom fabbing brackets to mount Passat Projector fogs in along with a 3k DDM HID kit. The fit is amazing and they look and fit completely stock. I am super pleased with how they turned out. The driver side one is a little crooked still so I need to fix that. Also, I picked up some S4 Bixenons with the black housing to replace my stock chrome single xenon housings. And finally plasti-dipped the trunk rings and used some matte black vinyl for the rear aluminum trim. I think it looks much better than the chrome.
I installed my new DUH front mount today. This thing is a serious piece of mandrel bending wonder. It took quite a bit more work than I anticipated to make it fit (trimming stuff, moving stuff, etc.) but it was well worth it. I ran out of daylight before I could trim the bumper though, so I'll have to wait until next weekend to finish it up.
Also, I was super excited when I pulled the stock intercooler hoses off, I've got 90k miles on my stock turbos right now and there wasn't a drop of oil in either outlet pipe. Woot!
On the not good side of things, I found out that my oil leak is coming from my cam seal on the passenger side (and not the valve cover gasket like I was hoping). Yeah, the one where you need to pull the cam sprocket off and basically re-do the timing belt to replace.
Thanks Neil. The problem seems to be a slow leak from the water pump. This really sucks considering the engine only has 20K miles on it. As of now, I'm debating on just replacing the pump, or doing the whole TB job. It just seems like such a waste to do the whole TB job given the mileage.
Unfortunately, no. I've nearly bought one about 10 times...even had driven down to pick it up from a fellow AZ'er. Every time I go to pull the trigger, I end up getting something else! LOL It's on the list for when my REI dividend comes in this year. Been spending massive loads of money there, and am expecting some back...so when it's on sale, I'll be picking up an 1800...maybe.

Had a custom exhaust installed over the weekend, my first performance mod (swapped black rails for silver previously) 2.5" aluminum cat back to Magnaflow 14862.
but yesterday, threw on spacers (10 & 12), tightened suspension dropped the front (need to work on the rears--what a PITA!)
Also recently had rs4 sways come in..was super excited about it! uninstalled the original andddddddd ::facepalm:: Obviously I didn't know the 08s came w/ rs4 sways.
