I like the long tube design. The hp/tq gain is pretty considerable. Wonder how this will work in wet condition. (though it comes with the hydro condom)
Out of the cars that I have bought intakes for, both have been by Injen. I love their products and their fit and finish have been outstanding. Wonder if they make this for a A5??
2010 Meteor Grey A5 2.0T Tiptronic with Cinnamon Brown interior, chrome grill inserts, Debadged, OEM exhaust tips, 35% Tint, APR Stage 2, Eurocode HFC, Blesk LED taglights, S5 Gunmetal Reps, Chinese Bootleg VAG COM, Nokya 2500k foglights

I had a custom intake built and I had it run the exact same way this one is being run. My filter sits right on top of my intercooler pipe and I haven't had a problem so far with sucking up water or snow. I can post up pictures later today if you want

The engine bay of A5 and A4 (2.0T) are the same.
So YES, u can apply it for your A5
I would really like to hear what APR would say about it as the both intakes are different. Which one is better and etc? Cons & Pros.
But i must say that APR is more of an OEM intake, plus i don't like how half of the intake is left.
Also, placing the intake behind the ic, wouldn't that limit the air intake?
A6 C6 Matt white: 15% tint rear, 35% tint front. OEM Audi R8 Titanium Grey 19" on 255/35/R19 tires.
A4 B8 Ibis white: K&N filter, 15% tint all around, EC HFI pipe Недвижимость на Кипре.
IMO, this intake doesn't look too good; having the filter sit right in front of the front bumper air inlet wouldn't provide a benefit throughout low rpms. + you would definitely be sucking in hot air from the engine.
My bad. I forgot about the hydro condom. Do they come in different colors?
just flavours and ribbed
sweet multi-spoke stock 17"s | 20% tint | crackfiller | few scratches where I closed the garage door on the bumper | 4x4 ride height | matte black hood | di-noc CF interior trim | plasti-dipped parts | pirated vag-com | 50lbs of sound equipment | couple of small stone chips on the hood | APR stg 1 | RS-Mesh Grille
The install is really easy, about 20 minutes if you take your sweet time. The filter fits right through the bottom of the valence.
So you dont have to remove your bumper, and if your iffy' about the weather, you can put it back to stock really quick and easy.
There is also a clean notch on the tube so it has clearance behind the headlight. Real clean kit. Amsoil dry filter too.
Help me out here - what is the point of putting the filter right behind the fog light cover - they are solid and don't allow any air flow in, right? Seems like having it up by the actual intake (top of the grille) would be better?
Goal is air away from engine heat and using lower restriction cone filter. I'm sure there is still air behind fog cover (not vacuum)
I don't see either how the first part is achieved any better than OEM though.
Instead of pulling fresh "as cool as you are going to get from the start air" from the outside of the car, this design is pulling it from a mostly enclosed space inside the bumper.......and it is still debatable whether aluminum reduces heat soak any more than plastic.
The Injen design does seem to allow for air to flow more freely into the system by reducing sharp twists and turns.

Thought the lack of twists was obvious. I do plan on wrapping the intake in heat reflective material.
2010 A4 non-sline Fog Grilles have vents in them. Unfortunately my A4L fog grilles don't.
Could always drill a few holes into the fog grille fins for this purpose.
