so much controversy over a phone case. everyone has their reasons for and against stuff, do we really need to over analyze this?

if you like it, and plan to get one, get it from winston. after all, aren't we a "community"?

winston does his share to support our community. i liked it, needed a case, and thought his cost was fair for a non-knock-off product. so i got it from him, not the least cost supplier but the supplier in my immediate COMMUNITY.

Don't you hate when your clients go to the least cost, low bid supplier? Loyalty is so old school

Why?

Well not all knockoff cases use a nice metal as part of their design, some use a cheaper metal alloy that actually interferes with signal reception.

I have installed a knockoff Vapor case which actually blocks cell reception almost 100%, but then that's what you get buying a copy of the original.

I don't make these cases, however, I am very impressed with their build quality and detail to fit and finish.

I got my case last week and it's money, thanks Winston!

The case doesn't seem to affect my cell or wifi signals. Word of warning about cables- you will not be able to use older iPhone cables or probably many 3rd party cables without modification. The cable that came with the iPhone 4 works perfectly though:

Also most, if not all, docks will not work either without removing the case.

There is a rubber material on the inside corners of the case. The aluminum does not come into contact with the front or back glass, the case sits around it and only really comes into contact with the metal edges.

awesome thanks. The Otterbox Commuter case I have doesn't cover the phone all that well and my Invisible Shield is peeling. I might have to pick one of these up.

There are rubber pieces which stop the aluminum case from making contact with the phone, when you clamp both sides on the phone 'floats' between the rubber and the case and prevents it from moving around.

Just got my case from Winston a few days ago. I ordered it maybe a week and a half ago and got it two days ago. Been wanting one of these since the iPhone4 first came out. Great product. My cover isnt fitting perfectly yet but I think I just need to adjust it a bit. I got the black cover so it looks great. Feels really great too after having gone through several plastic or rubber covers. I may have to buy the carbon back cover though. Winston is great to deal with too. Answered all my messages in very reasonable time and made sure the order got out right when he saw it.

Got mine in the mail today. Overall im pleased with the case, but i was under the impression that there was some sort of backing to the case. It looks nice on my phone though. Id take a picture of it, but my only camera is my iphone :/. Also with the rubber pads in each corner of the case, youd think that a case that originally cost almost $100 would have them more carefully placed inside the case. It seems like these (in my case anyways) were just slapped in there real quick

In the end im happy with the looks, fitment, etc though

Sorry about not being clear on it not baving a back cover, I have since added better pics of the cases to show that it is just an aluminum bumper case. The case itself is raised on the front and back so if you put the phone down the glass does not touch the surface.

The rubber pads probably loosened up and shifted since these cases have been sitting in boxes for almost a year now. Once you reposition them and they are squashed between the phone and the case they won't move. Do you believe one year ago these cases were selling for over $160 on eBay!!

I do appreciate the feedback and sorry it took a bit longer than expected to get it to you.

Winston - Just want to verify that this case will fit a Verizon iphone 4s. Been reading online that the Vapor4 will not fit Verizon. Can you verify yes or no? Thanks!

I can not verify if it will fit a Verizon iPhone4 or not as I have no access to one in Canada to test fit a case onto it.

The only information I do have it the iPhones used by Bell and Telus, which are out Verizon equivalent, fit the cases fine.

Customer bought one last week, I helped install it, it slipped out of his hand and the phone fell about 4' to the tiled floor. He picked it up and expected to see a shattered screen and all that there was is a scuff on the anodized aluminum finish.

He bought 5 more as gifts after that.
