yea the backrests heat up too, feels great on a cold day having it on a 6 and putting your bare back on it haha. but yea i find mine are hot enough, even with jeans and a sweater i'll feel hot when its on a 6, i usually keep it on a 3 and cant really do it over 4, that seems like the perfect comfort level for me.

Do you have the s line/sport seats or the standard ones? I have standard 2011 seats and they dont heat all of the way up.
I have standard seats on my 2009 Prestige that heat the seat cushions and backs and I never go past 3... too hot for my taste. I think 1 is nice and cozy and 2 is good for cold days, and 3 for when I freezing (then I turn it down to 1 or 2 after 5 minutes)! My wife has a lower tolerance for "pain" and loves the seats on 6 and agrees it gets pretty "toasty." I find my B8 seat heaters are on par with my B7 ones. Even though perceive heat/warmth is very subjective, I think if you don't feel they are heating all the way up on 6, something must definitely be wrong...

i have the standard seats on a Premium+, i dont know if it heats up all the way up as in like upper back/close to the shoulders, i dont really lean much to feel it in that area, but it does at least mid-lower back. i think it may be the same on standard and s-line, same heating areas?

That's what I was wondering - I have prem plus too and feel it about to my belt line, but that is as far as it goes. Oh well, guess I will just take a look when I get in there to take the awful lumber support out!
b4 anyone starts making fun of me cuz i live in Florida and dont need heated seats, i actually use it as an in car heating pad for my lower back pain.
anyway, my 2009 b8 would get hot like it was in direct sun, but in my 2012 b8 i can barely feel it on the max setting. I thought i was the only one. ill take it to the dealer and see what they say.

I have a 2010 and the seat heaters are def less warm than in either my b5 or b7 A4. Still get the job done when I crank them, but on the prior cars I never went past 3.
I know it is somewhat subjective, but it is odd that there is so much variation in this among cars...wonder if it is worth taking to the dealer...will let everyone know what they say if I do
