Nice! Post some more specs please. And have them stop working on your car and get the group buy finalized so I can get my manifold and DP!

^ no coolant lines and they don't cost a lot? Both are not good reasons to go with a turbo but hey sick looking build! Best tubular manifold on the market i think.

Clint I wasn't aware of all these problems with precision turbos. My original plan was to go with the Garrett 3076 but after talking to a few guys on here with the 5857 they seemed happy with it. The price was appealing also considering that both the 5857 & 3076 spool almost the same. What kind of problems are you talking about??

Problems like unable to fab any sort of intake piping, but if you go with Agtronic it shouldn't be a problem since they can place the turbo anywhere they want almost. Other issues that I've seen is the leaking oil from the CHRA that Dan is experiencing.

Shayne, don't worry about the PTE. First, we will take care of you if you experience any issues, and second, we have sold a few of these. First 5857 started to blow oil, and PTE replaced it no questions. We now run a restrictor at the feed line despite PTE assuring us there is no need for one. We no longer have smoking issues on any of these. I think 100+ psi is too much oil pressure for any turbo. The power and spool are great on these. Great value IMO.

She's going to run good man. :)

And wet willy, it's all in uni's hands. :(

I bought blank oil feed flanges and drilled them out to .065 for the 5857, ever since Dan's has blown 3 times then we got to talking about how its just a t3/t4 and Garret requires a .065 due to the oil pressure.. After Dan fighting with PTE various times, he finally said fuck it and ordered the restrictor, which has stopped his oil blow by issue (well, CHRA would squirt oil)...

But they def lack service. Read my build thread, last page, towards the top, as to what Wes told me when I sent the 5857 back to them unused b/c it made a noise (grinding/tinging) and would something catch something stop spinning by hand

Shayne, the DP is done and now we're on the reroute portion.

Also, not to take sides, but I always get excellent service from PTE. I've got a restrictor fitting drawn up for these too if ever anyone wants one.

Dan did as well for the first few times, but Wes was very "fuck you" to me on the phone.. .see the one on the car I am building for someone sounds like it hits, he told me it doesnt, etc.. so i threw the "well if yo usay it doesnt and i have video showing it does, if it hits, comes aparts and unfortunately goes through the motor, you're paying for it".. "absolutely not, that's not my fault".........this is why the turbo was sent back to keep this from happening.

Anyways, to keep the install CLEAN.. i did this... 1.65mm = .065 restrictor

now -an fitting goes right on without the ugliness of a fitting screwed into the turbo nd then a line screwed into it.. IMO.

Are you talking to me? Wes said he tore it apart and checked all the clearances and the turbo is fine. But when i got it back, it makes the same noise when spinning the exhaust housing by the nut and not the noise your finger makes on the blades.

I am just looking into meth injection right now and I know that aqua mist has really nice kits. Markku has an AEM kit at the shop but Im not to familiar with them. Its the only thing that I haven't bought yet for my build. Im gonna have everything put together once I get it but some of my buddys say to wait till summer ..... I don't think I'll be able to do that. It's starting to get cold in the area so is having a meth kit really important at the moment?? I'm gonna get it regardless. What meth company should I go with?? Any recommendations from some of u guys using meth injection??

    Thanks!

black99.5a4, the fitting we make is a male/male fittings, which is not much different from the ones used on GT turbos. Personally, I prefer not to rely on a gasket to seal a pressure line. Also, having these turned on the lathe is inexpensive. I don't find it ugly. Maybe you're picturing two fittings there ...

how much for one of those fittings??? I had to really rig up the one I got from CTS, it was WAY to big where it had to thread into the turbo. and what are you restricting it to.... .065?

In the past I have used 0.045 for T-series turbos, and am using .05 on the PTEs. I haven't decided what to use for the final run of restrictors though ...

Dan I have been talking to the guys over at Auto Select Tuning in Brampton Ont. about tuning for my car. He highly recommended that I use the Me7 1000cc file with matching injectors for my build and they will tweek it a bit to get the best out of my hardware. They have done a few cars like mine with great success. He says that 400whp won't be a problem with the hardware I have and the 1000cc file which is good because thats my goal.

I'm biased but Snow has come a long way. The pump is really nice, all the fittings are metal, the controller does both MAF and boost, etc. Its a great kit. I saw your PM but being at school makes me slow at responding. Expect a response soon
