Saw all the pics posted by A-Basin and Loveland. Looks "decent" early season. I do agree that there's too many people and too few runs, though. But riding'ss riding, right? Looks like another 2ft possible in the next 24 hours. You should hit it up TJ.
As I'm sure you know, the show is based on Evergreen, I actually have a place in the real South Park, just on the other side of Boreas Pass from Breckenridge. I haven't been there in over a year though; today I decided I want to move up there and be a ski bum for a season...

I thought the show was based on Fairplay? I know that Trey is from Conifer and a lot of characters are based off of people he knew.
South Park City is in Fairplay, but I believe the show is based on the Conifer/Evergreen areas. The real South Park is full of ghost towns.
Sweet pic with Mr. Hanky BTW!
It makes sense for the show to be based on Conifer since that's where Trey is from. Where is the "real" south park (or are you just talking about the region known as south park off of 285)?

Mr. Hanky loves me and he loves you.
South Park is a valley region in Park County (there is also a North Park and either an East or West Park IIRC), and yes, 285 cuts through it. There is "South Park City" located within Fairplay as sort of a recreation 'Olde Town', but it's not anything close to "real". My place is closest to the ghost town of Peabody, which is at the base of Boreas Pass Rd on the Park County side (other side is Summit County Breckenridge).

Chime the PSA music.
The other side of Boreas Pass is quite nice. I like the drive on 285.

Bachelor looks like it got killed!
I went to loveland on saturday...it was pretty fun just being back on the snow again aside from early season rail jams
I can't seem to find Peabody on google. Are there alot of ghost town around here? I think it might be time for a 4WD expedition :)
There are tons of old ghost towns up in the hills. My stepdad has a 4wheeler's book that shows different trails to get to a lot of them. Last winter we stayed at my buddy's GF's cabin in Lake City and we snowmobiled to the old Carson ghost town that sits at damn near tree line. Lake City is way out near Ouray and Silverton, about 45 minutes past Gunnison.

I'm drooling over all your shots, TJ. I miss the snow, and can't wait to get out there.
The pics of Aspen actually make me want to move there. The last photo was on Vail pass on the way back to Denver. It seems as though winter has hit everyone at the same time; it's going off from Bachelor to Targhee to Big Sky to Breck to Stowe.

LMAO!!
I miss it up there.

Cue the music again, please...
Peabody doesn't really exist anymore; my Dad was telling me about it a while ago. From what I heard, it was a mining/railroad camp, and only the mountains of tailings and a few mining artifacts still remain, as well as Roberts Cabin(click), operated by the US Forest Service. The closest existing town is Como, which is and isn't a ghost town depending on who you ask.

Cam, keep me posted if you move back up there. My buddy George just moved to Blue River so I'm sure I'll be around that neck of the woods quite a bit (if I'm not staying in Minturn that is).
Does anyone ride Technine or have any opinions? I am looking for a new park board and am torn between The Gnu Park Pickle or the Technine One Love. Any suggestions? I have heard good things about Gnu but haven't heard anything about Technine.

Will do!

Park pickle is pretty fun, I love the graphics of T9 boards but I don't think they are very high quality construction. Check out the DC pbj...its got a great flex and is a perfect park board. The K2 fastplant is really nice too. FYI PBJ, fastplant, and Park Pickle will all ride very similar as they are all medium-soft flex with extended effective edges.

Well the only difference between most women's and men's snowboards is the sizes and waist width's because women usually have much smaller feet and prefer a narrower board because it is easier to transfer edge to edge with. However, the DC Biddy is almost a scaled down cross between the Men's PBJ (Park freestyle) and MLF (All-mountain freestyle) boards (both of which I love)...it has a mid-level flex too. As for women's boards outside of DC, I don't know anything about them, sawwy.
Ugh, I wanna learn how to board so damn bad! I guess I'll just have to stick to sliding around on a sled behind a car for now. haha.
So go do it. Rent some gear, get up on the hill with some friends and figure it out. Take some lessons if you don't have patient (or competent) friends.
